What is your greatest health benefit since losing weight?

Before starting nutisystem 8 weeks ago, I had really bad acid reflux. I went to the dr. who prescribed some medicine, but sometimes it still bothered me. Since losing some weight and changing the way I eat and avoiding foods that I really shouldn't eat, I haven't had any signs of acid reflux at all.
 
That is fantastic! For me, losing weight was all about getting healthier-I didn't really focus so much on looking better, as about being so much healthier. And although I only lost 20 pounds, for every pound I lost, I lost almost a point on my blood pressure. At its highest, it was 140/90. Now it's 120/78. My pulse has gone down about 10 beats per minute too. And I'm so looking forward to the health benefits I'll feel next week-we're going to the Grand Tetons, doing a lot of hiking. I figure carrying 20 pounds less, I'll be able to hike farther and enjoy the views more!
 
My greatest health benefit I think is that I do feel better. I must say though that I did not think that as I have been struggling along the way.
 
My greatest feeling after loosing weight was feeling healthier,
Looking better getting compliments from people.
Being able to tie my shoes without being out of breath, and get to the top of steps without being out of breath.
 

I generally feel a whole lot better (not as tired). But for things that can be measured, my cholesterol, triglycerides, and blood pressure are all WAYYYYYYY down.
 
Well, I've still got more to lose, but I have so much more energy. I'm also less cranky/moody. I feel that I've done this, what else can I do? Let's go! My outlook really is changing. I've gone from "ugh, I'm going to have to bend over to pick up that sock," to, "oooh, I think I'll throw my bicycle in the back in case we go for a ride." Totally different mentality about exercise. :dogdance:

I agree with you 100% on that one. I didn't excersize at all a few months ago before I started my weight loss program. Now I actually look forward to it. I feel stomach muscles now, that I haven't noticed in a long time!
