What is your go to Xmas dish?

So many groups consider pierogi to be from their culture.
They are the main attraction food wise at the annual Polish Festival here.
My Aunt used to make them and claimed their were from our Czech culture.
Ukrainians claim them too.
However, Google seems to consider them a Polish food.

I’m from Czech decent and grew up with the food. Never had pierogis. Dumplings both bread and potato but not pierogis

LOL. Looking up traditional Czech food, neither pierogis or dumpings are listed.
But, I'm only 34% Czech according to my DNA test.

Spinach dip with bugles and a cheeseball are a must with a spiral ham. We do finger foods for Christmas Eve and my Grandma makes Christmas dinner at her house every year.

Well I don't think it qualifies as a dish but black olives

It’s a side dish but my great aunts mashed potatoes…..uses cream cheese and sour cream and is baked after mashing for a few minutes.


Going to be bittersweet this year as she passed last weekend

I make a breakfast egg casserole each Christmas morning. We always wake early, eat breakfast, then dig into the gifts. About two hours later we'll be on the road to see extended family.
