this board is turning me into a dlrp freak. i have already started pricing my next trip and i havent even been on my first yet lol.

so what is your fave time to visit the park? and why what makes it different

January cause I am poor and if I don't go then I won't go at all!!:thumbsup2 :rotfl:

Summer, followed very closely by Christmas.

I love the long opening hours of the summer, as well as the the great evening line-up including Fantillusions and the fireworks. The longer hours give you plenty of time to eat in the park, without impacting on what you can do or having to eat too early (to have a decent, long meal in the park in the winter, you need to start eating no later than 6ish because that's the last sitting).

I also like the fact that Parc Asterix is open in the summer, which makes for a fun day trip away.

I also enjoy Christmas though, because I love the Christmas theming a lot, plus the queues are so much shorter which helps (with the rides DB won't go on). The cold temperatures are also more bearable than the heat, because you can just add more layers. Finally, if you're really lucky, it snows in winter :goodvibes

Oh my, this one is so hard, here are some of my favorites:

Jan - the snow and ice come in making the park unique compared to it's american cousins. Beautiful pictures, a good excuse for hot chocolate, or to cozy up next to a fire in the Sequoia Lodge. Ice Skaters in front of the Hotel New York. And a chance to see the park lit up - low crowds too.

April - ah, springtime in Paris. The blossoms blooming in the park, and often wonderful weather, a great time to celebrate DLP's birthday (April 12th, 1992)

August - ah, usually hot and sunny. The late summer has the late hours, more entertainment than you can shake a stick at, Fantillusion and rare fireworks. Wonderful, and if really late, a number of countries have already gone back to school, so it is not as crazy as the rest of summer.

September - if you do not have kids, this can be great. The weather is still nice and the crowds are low. Despite being here on 9/11, it is still a great time (and I am glad I was there for 9/11, but the 2 min silence in the hub was certainly very surreal.

OCtober - amazing take on Halloween, with lots of entertainment. Be careful though. Almost every school in Europe is on vacation the last week of October, so it gets crazy. Earlier in the month is better.

November - 2 times in the month are special - 1st week has the bon fire spectacular (and it is), and then later on Christmas starts with the fake snow on Main Street, the Christmas Parade and the tree lighting ceremony. I have never felt the Christmas spirit more than at DLP.

and people ask me why we go so often???!!!!:3dglasses

Christmas season, no doubt about it!

I just love the Christmas decorations

When i start having to go during school holidays im going to look back and wish i had more low season trips :rotfl:

That's why we did 3.5 weeks in California earlier this year before our eldest started school. We know we are unlikely to go to the states again for a very long time!

Kyra starts reception in September 2010 so i can fit in a couple more low season trips before that lol.

Low season trips are good.

DB goes to a special needs school, so we tend to apply to take him out of school for a few days to do a low season DLP trip and more importantly, a low season skiing / snowboarding trip because he copes far better when there are less crowds.

we tend to visit most often in June but my favourite time has to be Christmas, the decorations are just gorgeous and I love the 'snow' that falls on Main Street ... it's so pretty and then there's the ice skating outside Hotel New York and it's the only time I ever drink hot chocolate but it's just so yummy :) I am however very excited about going in October so my opinion may change after that !!!

October is my favourite time. Catch it right and its really quiet, and the weather is usually bearable :). I love the theming of Halloween, very well done.

I had a fantastic trip in March one year though, even though it was about -13 with the wind, and thick driving snow. Everything was beautiful, and it was perfect to come back to the Sequoia Lodge and sit down in front of the fire with hot chocolates.

Im deffo going to go in the Summer though, prob 2011 we will go for a week at the end of August.

I must say it's got to be summer... We've been in April, June, July and Dec... Somehow I like the hot weather, the crowds are ok, sometimes annoying but still you don't have to wear layers of clothing...

Xmas is very magical...Love all the decorations, the music, the parade etc etc. The only thing I don't like is how crowded the restaurants are... It's the same in summer but at least you can sit outside. Its a bit tricky in winter...

Unfortunately, with Mia being at school we can't go whenever we want... We booked to go back in Dec and hoped to take her out of school on her last 2 days but then got a letter saying we'd be charged money if we did that. Apparently, Islington has the lowest attendance percentage in London. It's a pain but DH thinks we should do it anyway even if we have to pay... The annoying thing is that Mia never misses a day at school, we never take her out to go on holiday so she'll have to suffer for some other little buggers:mad:
