sorry if it has been asked already but I would love to know. I am planning on using my snack credits on the event.:cool1:

i LOVE the pierogie with keilbasa and saurkraut. they dont give you much and it's $5 but if you use the snack credit it's a must do. You get one piergoie, 2 thin slices of keilbasa and a tiny bit of saurkraut. You can also say sour cream on top, which they did in the shape of a mickey head :lovestruc

that is the only thing i've ever gotten b/c it's so good. i'm getting it again in october.

I'm be there the 2-9 when are you going? I couldn't decided on the free dinning plan or not but I figured it would be worth it because of all of the tasty treats you could get at the F&W Festival.:goodvibes

Not all the items are the same every year. But some are generally always there, like the Cheese Soup in Canada.

These are my favorites from last year, but no guarantee any of them will be offered this year. They haven't announced the menus yet.

Canada:
Maple Glazed Salmon with Lentil Salad
Cheddar Cheese Soup

New Zealand:
Seared Scallop on Vegetable Slaw with Lemon Oil
Lamb Slider with Tomato Chutney

Ireland:
Lobster and Scallop Fisherman's Pie

Greece:
Chicken Souvlaki

Australia:
Grilled Lamb Chop with Red Wine Sauce and Murray River Sea Salt

South Africa:
Seared Beef Tenderloin with Sweet Potato Puree and Mango BBQ Sauce

Thailand (which will not be back this year, unfortunately :sad2:):
Chicken and Coconut Soup with Lemongrass, Ginger, and Mushrooms.

The Lobster Salad Sandwich at the US Pavilion. But I am fairly certain that you cannot use a DDP Snack Credit for it.

I'll second the pierogies even though that's not very exotic to me (growing up in Pittsburgh and Buffalo) - but they were very good.

I loved the escargot in the little tiny bread bowls they had in France the year we were there.

The festival Sam Adams beer was very good, but not a snack credit item!

We also had a wonderful cheese plate at the Mousetrap booth when we were there in 2008, not sure if that booth is there every year or not.

Believe it or not we did get the Lobster Roll with a snack credit last year. Well at least my DM did. She said it was good by I wouldn't have paid OOP for it.

The crab cakes from the American Pavillion !! Can not wait to get them.

My favorites from last year were:

Ireland: Fishermans Pie

Australia: Lamb Chop

Austria: Mushroom Soup
(Were they giving people a geography lesson putting Australia and Austria booths so close together so that people would learn the difference?)

France: Chocolate Milk Creme Brulee

Argentina: Beef Empanada

Greece: Baklava

It will be interesting to see new offerings and how many old favorites will be back this year.

My favorites last year were the cheese plate, the fisherman's pie, and the Greek chicken.

Actually we were able to use a snack credit for this and the crab cake-I was pretty surpised, but pleasantly pleased :)

My votes go to:
Kielbasi and pierogies (Poland)
The lamb slider(New Zealand)
The potsitckers (China)
Chocolate cake and Baileys ganache(UK)
Beef and corn pie (Argentina)
Milk Chocolate creme brulee(France)
Beef and Hummus Pita pocket (Morocco)
Cheese plate (Ireland)
Sushi (Japan)
Lamb chops and Prawns w/ sweet potato hash (Australia)
Beef Medallion with cheddar polenta (San Fran)
Samosa with Tamarind sauce (India)

What can I say-I'm a food geek lol!:goodvibes

The only place I didn't like anything? Italy-go figure. Didn't taste like real Italian food-more like bad Chef-boy-ardee.:confused3

Because it was 100 degrees with high humidity last Oct., I would have to say the Mint Tea in Morocco. I was drinking it by the gallon.. or would have been if it was a bit cheaper! :goodvibes

Mmmmm... lobster rolls! Last time I was there at F&W, I ate 3 - bought with snack credits.

Last year there were quite a few items that were well over the $4.00 that is normally considered the limit for snack items. I used snack credits for all of them--gotta love the 2 snack credits that come with the DxDDP.:rotfl:

As far as favorites I'd say it was the Fisherman's pie from Ireland and the sushi from Japan.

We went for a short weekend last October for F&W (3rd time going!) and wound up in Pop with the free Quick Service Dining. I can't even begin to tell you how much money that saved us at the Festival! Anything over $4.50 we used a snack credit for....amazing! You can see all my reviews of the food in my October DR/TR 09, link in my signature.

My favorites:
Escargot en brioche-France
Cabernet Short Ribs with Mashed Potatoes-France
Seared Beef Tenderloin with Sweet Potato Puree and Mango BBQ-South Africa
Bread Pudding-New Orleans
Dulce de Leche Cookies-San Juan
Chicken Soulvaki-Greece
Chocolate Lava Cake-Ireland

Another vote for the lobster roll. We have used snack credits for it the past 2 years.

My absolute hands down favorite last year was the beef tenderloin w/mango suace & the sweet potato from south Africa. I had a glass of the red wine there too and it was just heaven.:goodvibes..hope its a choice again this time

As you probably saw by now, you were mistaken, sir. ;)

The only glitches using snack credits last year seemed to occur in Japan. People at the start of the festival reported back that they were not able to order the Tuna Sensation with snack credits, but they were able to use credits for the rest of the food items.

A couple weeks later, Japan started accepting snack credits for it, and all the menu boards reflected the DDP symbol on all the food and non-alcoholic beverages.
