And along the same lines, why not tell me which one is your least favorite and why.

:wave2:

My favorite WDW hotel is AKL. The grounds and interior are beautiful. Where else in the USA can you look out your window and see a zebra or a giraffe?

Don't really have a least favorite - but I guess it would have had to have been my stay at ASM. Great value for the price, but too loud and too crowded.

Favorite would have to be POR. We have never had a bad time at this hotel. Our least favorite is CSR. Don't care for the SW theming, and it just didn't "feel" as magical as some of the others. The restaurant and food court were outstanding, however, so I guess it wasn't all bad! :teeth:

Favorite deluxe is the GF...loves the grounds, theming, rooms etc....it's just wonderful...

Favorite moderate is POFQ....beautiful resort, compact, convenient and a great value...

Don't really have a least favorite but would not return to ASSp or ASMu if we didn't have to....

Coronado Springs is my favorite. I love the pool and Pepper Market. Not to crazy about Port Orleans

My Favs.....POLY followed closely by GF :goodvibes :goodvibes

Don't really have a least favorite. We love all to varying degrees!

yacht / beach club

best location of all disney props

5 hotels and all the eating and bar places that go with them, all within a 10 minute walk.

15 minute walk to 2 parks

all the activity of the board walk, a short walk away

storm along bay is just the cherry on top

Gotta be Wilderness Lodge. I mean, I like the other resorts, but many of them are tropically or beach themed (BC, YC, BWV, OKW, CBR, Poly, etc.) How hard can it be to make a place in Florida look like, well, a place in Florida?

On the other hand... make me feel like I've just stepped off the bus/boat and right into the heart of the mountains, like I'm in a magnificent pacific coast lodge, and yet STILL be smack dab in Central Florida -- you've really accomplished something magical!! And Disney is all about the magic, for me! :wizard:

Plus, I happen to LIKE that woodsy forested a-river-runs-through-it lodge feelin'. :cloud9:

As for least fave -- probably Contemporary. It's just too dang hard to stay ahead of technology, and that toaster looks mighty dated (and the room decor gives me retinal fatigue.) :crazy2: It's such a shame, too -- what a great piece of real estate. I tried once to argue with DH that we ought to try it for the views outside a tower room... his comment was, Yeah, but then I'd have to turn around and see the view INSIDE the room. (I'm pretty sure he meant the aformentioned wild array of "contemporary" decor colors, not me... or at least, that BETTER be what he meant! )

For now it's WL, but I bet after we stay at AKL in May, it will be a toss up. WL is our favorite because of the stunning lobby, the relaxing grounds and boat transportation to MK. We loved that boat ride! :flower:

Well, I've only stayed at POFQ onsite, and we absolutely loved it. By far, the best vacation we've had! I love everything about it. Now, I've just got to get to some others so I can really compare!!!

Our favorite Moderate of course is Dixie Landings nka POR it was our first love and always will be. Then we tasted the Deluxe WL so the became another love. Just recently we spent the weekend at Beach Club. Oh man now that is living.

We also enjoy Pop.

Ones we dislike!!!! all the All Stars.

My oh my, we go to Disney alot. We have stayed at all of the above and others numerous times. I could be here all night giving you reasons.

So I'll stop now and go read some other boards.

I am getting way tooooo excited waiting to go back in July. :rotfl: :rotfl:

CBR is my hands down favorite. I love it better than all of the deluxes that I have stayed at too. Its fabulous! The atmosphere is so festive, colorful, and fun. The food court is the best hands down. The CM's always seem in a better mood there I personally think. Nothing beats a private lake with boats and a little island on it. The hammocks on the lakes beach are wonderful, and the rooms are so colorful!!! I love that! I've stayed here quite a few times and have never had a bad stay. I love that its a bit more spread out than other resorts. THe walk though from the farthest building back to the food court is not even that bad either, and is quite pleasant in the atmosphere, even in the rain. This one is the first resort I fell in love with and its truly magical. :cool1:  :earseek: :wizard:

Someone on the disboards said (I forgot who it was so sorry about this) that the first resort you fall in love with is your favorite forever. I couldn't agree more.

GF is my least favorite. I stayed there with my parents when I was younger and some of our clothes were stolen amongst other things. No money, jewelry, or anything of a large value was stolen b/c that was all in our safe, but you can't lock up your clothing. The door had been closed, my family has always been paranoid about making sure that doors are shut, so the only way someone could have gotten into our room would have been with a housekeeping key. When we asked for help in recovering our stolen items we were told that it was our own fault that things were stolen because they were not locked up. When we asked how they expected us to lock up our clothes the CMs glared at us, then they proceeded to tell us that only "trivial" items had been stolen so we were wasting our time trying to recover them. You better believe we filed a complaint, but the snobby, non-chalant attitude of the CM's has made me firmly against this resort. We never got our things back or any compensation at all. It's simply not worth the money for that type of treatment, and the theming was just alright to begin with. Personally it doesn't do anything for me, though the grounds around it are nice. I prefer the value resorts to this one though. :earsboy:

The axiom that one bad experience ruins something for life is so true.

Polynesian.

(1) Memories: It was my first WDW resort and where we always stayed when I was a kid. It was my wife's first WDW resort. And we stayed there for our honeymoon.

(2) Location and transporation options: It is the only resort with monorail transportation to both MK and Epcot.

(3) Pool: The Volcano Pool is one of the best on property, IMHO.

(4) Atmosphere: Smells, sights and sounds make you feel like you are on an island. Except for the view of the Castle, which brings me to...

(5) Views: Many of the longhouses gives you great views of the Castle.
You can watch the fireworks from the beach, 'Ohanas or many of the rooms.

My favourite is the Beach Club (especially the BCV.) I love the theaming and Stormalong Bay. I love the location, being able to walk to my two favourite parks in 10 minutes is great. Plus I love the choice of restaurants and things to do within a 10 minute walk of our room. I also love the beach in front of the hotel especially in the evening when you can see the fireworks from Epcot and MGM. I especially love the villas as having a kitchen is so handy.

My least favourite would be any of the values. The theaming isn't really me at any of them.

Pop Century is my favoriate because I love Pop Culture.

Sorry, but out of the three Resorts CBR and POFQ, I can't say I have a least favoriate. They were all great.

Coronado Springs

Why?

1) I love the theming, it's peaceful and not loud and tacky.

2) Pepper Market is convenient and yummy

3) The handicapped accessible rooms cannot be beat

4) Last and most important, it is quiet!!! There are rarely any screaming kids running around, which I really appreciate. Being a convention resort, I think it appeals more to adult-only vacationers.

I'm so happy that I decided to post this thread. I'm really learning a lot about the various resorts. In case you hadn't figured it out, we're still trying to decide where we want to stay. I like getting different perspectives...so keep them coming. And if you have more to add about your favorite or want to rebutt someone else's comments, please feel free...without flaming, of course.
