What is your favorite offsite resort that isn't WBC?

What do you like about it?

I sometimes think that the Wyndham Bonnet Creek needs its own forum. :rotfl:

We bought a timeshare at Cypress Pointe Resort in 1993 because we loved the resort (Marriott quality in a better location and about half the cost). Over the years the area around it - both the planned community it sits in and the area surrounding that - has exploded and now offers virtually any service you could want in the rare Orlando area that is pedestrian friendly.

So nearly 20 years later we still love "our" resort - 168 units that will never grow, is well maintained and undergoes regular updates. It is in an unbeatable location just 1 mile from DTD and no more than ten minutes from any of the major Orlando attractions. #1 in our book (despite owning Wyndham & enjoying WBC as well as the other Wyndham properties they aren't anywhere near the total experience we enjoy every time we stay at Cypress Pointe Resort).

It is more than just a great location it is the total resort experience. CPR is a smaller but full featured resort that doesn't require a car to enjoy. It's a small town type feeling in a beautiful tropical setting & Caribbean feel. We still like it as much as we did back in 1993 and look forward to each and every return visit.

Ours is Marriott's Cypress Harbour. Although it's 20 years old, it's grown older gracefully. It's so relaxing and Marriott/management does a wonderful job keeping up with the property. We love it.

We love Sheraton Vistana Resort.

Like a couple of PP's we bought where we want to stay and own one of our 3 Orlando timeshare weeks there - the last one we bought, and the one we use most. We really like the fact that the resort is mostly low rise buildings so doesn't have that jammed in feeling you get in the high-rise resorts. Amenities are great, you can spend a week and never leave the resort and not get bored; market, restaurants, 7 swimming pools, mini-putt, tennis. But if you do leave the resort, it is very central to absolutely everything - Disney, Universal, SeaWorld, I-Drive, Sand Lake Restaurant Row, Outlet Malls and other shopping. We love the location!

If I bought one more week, it would be at Hilton Grand Vacation Club, I-Drive.

Thanks. I'll will definitely be pricing all of these when I get ready to make reservations.

If you mean "timeshare resort", mine is probably Vistana. Excellent location relative to the parks, just around the corner from the World Drive entrance. Now that all of the units have been fully refurbished, the units are all in tip-top shape.

Mine is Marriott's Cypress Harbour.

But there are others that are at or near the same level. In no particular order...
Sheraton Vistana Villages
Marriott's Grande Vista
Hilton Grand Vacation Club at SeaWorld International

I love the Caribe Royale orlando we stated thier in 2006 with a party of 9 the kids loved the waterslide the villas was large and clean most of all we loved it it only 6 min form the magic kingdom...

My two favorites are Cypress Pointe (I've done three stays here) and the Sheraton Vistana Resort (I've done four stays here)

Why do I love these:
1) super convienent Lake Buena Vista locations (Cypress Pointe has the better location -- just across from the sign off the road to Downtown Disney // Sheraton Vistana is a very easy drive to any of the parks too.
2) Plentiful reasonable owner rentals available on Redweek.com and TUG2.net. OK -- I love a good value (A high quality resort at a great price works for me. I'm a budget conscious traveler.)
3) Special nice things about Cypress Point -- You can actually walk to a few resturants from here / the resort is a really nice size -- I like this size better than the mega resort sizes / they keep the pools really warm which I love / they just have one or two tennis courts, but no one ever uses this / these, so I can use that court any time I want / They have tons and I mean tons of three bedrooms. If I want a three instead of two bedroom condo, I always get a week here.
4) Sheraton Vistana resort / They just did an absolutely awesome remodeling job of all the units (like gutted the place). The units are beautiful. // The landscaping and placement of units here is exceptional. Here you get a balcony or patio with a water view (every single unit) / makes it so pleasant for sitting out. I think almost every other timeshare resort in the area has at least some if not lots of parking lot views. If a good view from your balcony or patio is important to you, this is the place to book. // They have great pools that stay open till 1 a.m. Our teens LOVE that. // And oh my gosh -- They have clay tennis courts -- eight of them I think. We are a tennis playing family and love playing on clay.

Hey but variety is the spice of life // stayed at Orange Lake last March -- very nice. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again either. // There are so many great timeshares in the Orlando area and I'm happy to try different ones (I do like getting a good value, though) -- Year ago I had a few stays at one of the Marriotts and one of the Hiltons plus a stay at Polynesian Isles. Recently, though, I just have seen good deals on rentals for Marriott or Hilton properties (too expensive when other great properties are offered for considerably less), and I just haven't seen rentals too often for Polynesian Isles for our dates. Cypress Pointe is a floating week resort, making it quite easy to get an owner rental for the week you want. The Sheraton Vistana is just so big, meaning more rentals are available.

Timeshare or regular, I'm interested in all of them. :)
