What is your favorite bagel and how do you like to eat it?

A toasted cinnamon raisin bagel with thick cinnamon butter and cinnamon on top. Do you see a trend here? :teeth:

Anything but onion or cinnamon raisin. It needs to be very toasted, almost charred so that it is nice and crunchy. I like it with swiss or chedder and tomato.

A cranberry bagel with honey walnut cream chees. Wow, I think I'm going to have to run to Bruggers and pick one up for breakfast.

Toasted everything bagel with either plain or veggie cream cheese.

I can't eat bagels unless they are toasted, thanks to the TMJ.

At Breuggers-Sourdough or Rosemary Olive Oil with Olive Pimiento Cream Cheese
At Panera-Asiago Bagel with Sun Dried Tomato Cream Cheese
At Einsteins-Roasted Garlic Bagel with cream cheese

Now I have to stop by Breugger's!!!

gonna add one more: sometimes we take onion bagels toasted and make a sandwich with bacon (vegetarian, but I bet it be good with the real thing!!!) and spicy mustard. We used to make these camping and it smelled so good out in the fresh air...now they still remind us of camping!!!! :sunny:

We have a great little place here: The Bagel Bin Cafe. In the fall, they have a pumpkin spice bagel with pumpkin spice cream cheese...I'll take that toasted any day!

Everything bagel toasted to almost burned, plain cream cheese (lots), bacon and Jersey tomato. Yummmmmyyyyy!!!!

When I met DH, he introduced me to the fine art of the "stinky bagel" as he calls it. The best "stinky bagels" are always toasted, and involve onion, everything, or garlic bagels (or something else garaunteed to give you bad breath) with chive, onion, or other "stinky" cream cheese. My favorite now is a toasted onion bagel with chive cream cheese. We go for stinky bagels and coffee before church on Sunday mornings.

Oh, and DH also calls sweet bagels (cinnamon crunch, raisin, etc.) "doughnuts".

From Bruegger's, a salt bagel (untoasted) with light herb & garlic cream cheese.

About 6 weeks ago, we bought a toaster that makes breakfast sandwiches, poaching the egg and heating thru the meat while toasting the bagel/muffin, so I've been having a lot of everything bagels with egg, canadian bacon and fat-free cheese breakfasts lately...

Onion bagel toasted with garlic spread

Blueberry bagel toasted with strawberry yogurt kind of cream cheese (Brummel and Brown)

Sun dried tomato toasted with veggie fat free cream cheese

Egg bagel, or oniion if it is not too oniony, not toasted but warmed in the oven, with chive cream cheese, lox and tomato, or if I want sweet, chocolate chip bagel lightly toasted with Nutella.

You know you can save a bunch (don't have exact #) of cals/carbs if you "gut" the bagel. You cut it in half and pull out the fluffy bread and create a shell for whatever you like ~ cream cheese, cheese, butter etc.. You can take out as much or as little as you like. I feel less guilty this way. :rotfl:
We also like what we call the "shake" at the bottom of the bag of bagels when you bring it home ~ its also called debris (onions, sesame. poppy, garlic etc thats fallen off the bagels and settles in the bottom of the bag. We sprinkle it (OK I sprinkle it on top of my cream cheese)
