I'll start:

I like a raisin bagel - toasted with butter and a little cinnamon sugar on top.

What about you?

Best bagels anywhere are from Pennington Bagel Experience. My favorite is a toasted sesame with butter (or the soy-based cholesterol-lowering stuff we actually use).

A sunflower bagel, toasted, with very veggie spread. Mmmmm, now I'm hungry.

I like the everything bagels with cream cheese with chives.

I'm boring. I like an egg bagel, toasted with lots of plain cream cheese. Yum! :)

I so miss bagels… I love bagels, but they are soo bad for you that now, I only eat them occasionally. I have two favorites, one is lightly toasted onion bagel with veggie cream cheese and the other is lightly toasted berry bagel with strawberry cream cheese.

To me, a bagel is nothing more than a mere delivery system for cream cheese. I don't care what it is but I thickly HEAP cream cheese on it.

Salt bagel, untoasted, with veggie cream cheese, topped with diced onion and tomato and sprinkled with black pepper.

Onion!!! - toasted with butter on the top and cream cheese on the bottom half....but, if I want sweet I do cranberry orange with just cream cheese - or cream cheese and orange marmalade. :sunny:

:wizard:

I love a blueberry bagel, with cream cheese. Plain and simple. :goodvibes

Cinnamon Cruch from Panera with Strawberry Cream Cheese.

These all sound good!! :goodvibes

Yes, a large bagel is pretty calorie/carb laden. And then we add the toppings. :rolleyes1 But there's no reason you can't incorporate them into a healthy diet. I generally take half of one to work with me, and when I toast it, my coworkers begin sniffing the air and drooling over mine, LOL. Luckily, we have an Au Bon Pain nearby, so they can go get their own. :stir:

I know what you mean. This lady I work with who is always on a "diet" brings a cinnamon raisin bagel with light cream cheese smothered all over it for a "snack" and thinks it's healthy. She also drinks a 2-3 serving size glass of juice so her whole "healthy snack" had about 500-600 calories in it, if not more. Bagels do have a lot of calories and carbs, but it's always better for you than a Big Mac. ;)

I know what you mean about other people and their “healthy snacks”. There is a woman I work with and yesterday she was asking me how come she isn’t loosing any weight when her and I decided to loose weight about the same time. And while I have lost about 10lbs. she hasn’t lost any weight? I just smiled and said it must have been the “healthy snacks” she is eating. And while bagels are indeed healthier then Big Mac, they still not as healthy as a fruit cup with low fat yogurt. So for now I will stick to eating ½ of the bagel on rare occasions.
