What is Your Favorite 60's Song?

I have a special '60's -'70's playlist in my MP3 player. :music: I love these songs.
They are from such a simpler, more innocent time. :cool1:
(I had to make a copy of my computer screen because no way was I going to type all this out. )

Whiter Shade of Pale - Procal Harum
Crazy - Patsy Cline
Any songs by Elvis

The 70's were better than the 60's, and the 80's were WAY better than the 70's. If I HAD to pick a favorite from the 60's (and there are only a few), I would pick 'Sounds of Silence' by Simon and Garfunkel.

Build Me Up Buttercup
Anything by The Temptations
Anything by The Supremes
Anything by the Four Seasons

I'm a Motown girl! :hippie:

There was so much good music in the 60's, it would be impossible to narrow it down to one song. Some of my favorite songs are:

Whole Lotta Love - Led Zeppelin
Bad Moon Risin' - Credence Clearwater Revival
Come Together - The Beatles
Honky Tonk Women - The Stones
Can't Always Get What You Want - The Stones
Blowin' in the Wind - Bob Dylan
You Really Got Me - The Kinks
House of the Rising Sun - The Animals
Satisfaction - The Rolling Stones
Eleanor Rigby - The Beatles
Hey Jude - The Beatles
Paint it Black - The Rolling Stones
Under My Thumb - The Rolling Stones
Brown Eyed Girl - Van Morrison
Foxy Lady - Jimi Hendrix
All Along the Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix
Happy Together - Turtles
Light My Fire - The Doors
Jumpin Jack Flash - the Stones
Born to Be Wild -- Steppenwolf
Mrs. Robinson - Simon and Garfunkel
Magic Carpet Ride - Steppenwolf
White Room - Cream

My favorite music period was the 70's though. :hippie: I wanted to be a hippie sooo bad but I was too young. :lmao:

I was just coming back to post some Motown genre. :thumbsup2 I have yet to dip into that category and fill up my MP3 player. I'll probably be spending a whole day doing that.

Great selections BigBadWolf. I'm always looking for more '60s tunes.

The problem with the later '60's & '70s is the music started turning into angry protest music about the war. You can directly hear the change in that one scene in "Forrest Gump" when they show them in the jungle going in to fight.

And of course, there was the Kennedy assasinations & then Martin Luther King, Jr. The music changed from happy, simpler music to more somber music. Although, the music did become more sophisticated.

Everylasting Love - Robert Knight
I Only Have Eyes for You – The Flamingos (cheating-from ’59)
Storm Warning – The Volcanoes
Baby I Need Your Lovin – The Four Tops
Have I the Right – The Honeycombs
Jimmy Mack – Martha & the Vandellas

Too many to name by The Four Tops, Temps, Marvin Gaye, Tammi Terrill, Jimmy Ruffin...
I could go on & on. The ‘60’s was the best decade for music (for me) - ’67 & ’68 especially.

BABYLOVE by the supremes because thats what my Dad used to call me,he passed 18 months ago so i still have that song to remember him by

About all the songs I like have been mentioned..HOWEVER..when I was like 6 or so, I used to listen to a cassette called "California Dreamin" with 60s California bands on it..

I used to LOVE a song that went something like "Heyyyyy...Mister space man, won't you please take me along. I won't do anything wrong.. Heyyyyyy...Mister space man, won't you please take me along for a ride" lol :rotfl:

Anyone remember the song that went like that?
