I'd love to hear about expert's views and recommendations :)

I've not stayed there (yet!! :):):) 2 months!)

But DLH is my favourite. LOVE the location, lobby, decoration.

Something tells me after my january trip all following ones will be at DLH. :)

i have only stayed in the santa fe but i think if you are looking for somewhere to put your head down then it is fine. yes i suppose it is basic but it isnt terrible, it is walking distance to the park and you get to see characters in the morning, beds are comfy and rooms are tidy. i had no complaints at all and would go back there

I've stayed at the Santa Fe, Sequia Lodge and the Davy Crockett.

My vote goes to...the Davy Crockett Ranch. By far the best pool of every Disney hotel, nice to be in the magic but far enough away to feel apart from everything, personal detatched cabin means that you don't notice if there is hyperactive children late at night next door to you.

I love it...and I'm so happy to be going back there in December

We're stayed at HNY, SL and Cheyanne, they all have pro's and cons and i could pick out bits from each that i loved but for all round it would have to be SL for me.. i love the theming, its on the lake and therefore not far to walk to the parks and price wise it isnt bad either.

Cheyenne - love the theming, the bar with live music from The Thrifts (if they still have it) and the fact that no rooms are high up! We spend so much time in the parks that we don't need anything more than a bed and a shower - just so happens that the Cheyenne offers it in with tons of personality.

I voted for the Disneyland Hotel (have only stayed there once), because you can't beat it for location. Only thing against it is the price (also explains why I have only stayed the once)! We always call in and usually eat there in Inventions during out trips.

Never stayed at the DLH or HNY so can't compare. But for me it'll have to be SL, the theming, atmosphere inside... Just feels so warm:)

Ok I'm not going to vote for the DLH as i haven't stayed there yet.

So my vote is based out where i have stayed and the Cheyenne was my fave. Can't wait to stay there again next September (Just hope our room is nearer to reception this time lol)

If I was voting in general it would have to be the DLH though.

Thanks for all the great responses :)

DLH looks amazing but definitely out of our price range right now :(

I like the look of Newport bay but no-one seems to have much to say about it?

I think I'm swinging towards SL right now, as looks amazing and seems to be really good value too....

(SL is the only hotel I've actually stayed in before!)

I have stayed in the NPB and i did like it.

I just found the reception area a bit big and unorganised for my liking.

The NBC is lovely, but massive (I believe it was the biggest hotel in Europe when it was first built).

Unless you pay for an admirals floor room there, you could easily find yourself trekking a good 5 minutes or more from the reception area to your room - and hanging around a lot longer at the lift area if, like when we were there, only 3 of the 5 lifts were working (and at the end of the day in the parks that 5 extra minutes feels like miles). The east wing rooms could do with a refurb too IMHO.

Agree with Elaine.

Our room was a good 10mins away from reception if you walked slow lol. But our room opened right on the lake so I wasn't complaining, if you know what i mean lol ;)

DLH is mine however I also love the HNY too.

The Cheyenne gets my vote and I've stayed at the DLH and Sequoia Lodge. In our opinion the Cheyenne wins hands now, we loved it:thumbsup2

Cheyenne because when I'm at DLRP I don't want to waste park time swimming or sitting around in the restaurant. The Hotel is fantastically themed, practical and comfortable. I do use the Disneyland Hotel for eating drinking and shopping - I just don't pay the price to stay there!
As my kids are teenagers the bunk beds plus double are the best arrangement for us as a family. There is no way my daughter wants to share a bed with her brother and funnily enough my DH doesn't want to either.:goodvibes
BTW Steve the Thrifts were playing Halloween week in the Red Garter Saloon.

Great to know The Thrifts are still there. They take requests too - when we were there last year I asked them to play the song of theirs which is on Une Journee and they did. They also signed a CD of theirs I bought for Denise - great musicians and thoroughly nice people.

We have stayed at the Sequoia twice and loved it. Booked for Newport Bay Club this time. Hoping we will like it as much as Sequoia, but looking at the poll results so far I'm not so sure.

I've stayed @ Hotel l'Elysee Val d'Europe, Santa Fe, Sequoia Lodge, Newport Bay Club & New York and must say Fav's are Santa Fe so easy and simple and for a bit more Sequoia Lodge, every hotel is Fab in the resort didn't have a very good experience at the l'Elyesee, but it could be different for everyone
:rolleyes1
