What is your experience booking a 2 bedroom at the 7 Month Window?

Ok members. I am now looking at a third contract as the last two were taken in ROFR. I NEED a contract to add to my existing because this time we are bringing seven family members with us. In particular they seem to want to stay at AKV, I am not opposed to that so, I have been looking at contracts there. My situation is the lack of contracts and/or a perfect contract but, can't close until after I could book at the 11 month mark.

I am wondering now difficult it will be to get a 2 bedroom at AKV Savanah view after the 11 month window. BONUS is we are going to be staying Thanksgiving day for 10 nights. I see a contract I want but, like I said it closes to close to the 11 month booking window so the points wont likely load in time.

P.S. if I have posted this in the wrong forum please feel free to move it. TIA-

If you mean for Thanksgiving 2021, you are now less than 8 months out for Thanksgiving which is an extremely high demand time when most things, including 2BRs at AKV book full before 8 months out.

Any contract you see now and buy today will likely not close and get into the reservation system before late May or June. If you are talking about a reservation for any time in, April, May or June 2022, then you will likely be able to get a 2BR savanna view ar Kidani after closing and even at 7-months out. Kidani standard view 2BRs will also likely still be available for a substantial portion of that time if you close in late May or June. Jambo 2BRs are more iffy, with standards tending to be the first to fill and you should consider those about a 50/50 chance if you are booking at 10 or fewer months out for the time period, with a better chance for savanna view at Jambo (Jambo's issue is that all 2BRs are lock-offs and thus studio reservations eliminate the ability to to get a 2BR).

If thoughts are for a value or club level 2BR, forget it. Those tend to fill much of the year right at 8 a.m. at 11-months out most of the year. In fact, if desire is to usually get value or club level, you should not buy AKV because you will be disappointed.

I am looking at a contract that won't close until latter part of November this year. We are staying on Thanksgiving day 2022 for 10 nights.Chances are very unlikely we will close and have points added in time to make the 11 month window. Maybe be able to book at the 10 month window. I am just on the fence on taking that chance and wanted to know how likely/unlikely a 2 bedroom Savannah view would be available then.

We would likely choose Kidani for the room layout

With a caveat, you should be able to get a Kidani savana view 2BR at 10 months out, with probably a fair chance for other 2BRs at AKV except potentially standard view at Jambo. The caveat: you mention going for 10 nights. If any of those nights include Dec 1 or after (first week of Dec is the highest DVC demand week of the year at WDW), then you should assume even Kidani savanna view 2BRs might fill before 10 months out.

That's almost 8 months from now. I'd give it a pass, or offer well below asking to make up for the risk of a long wait.. Prices could change a lot in that time. If they go up, the seller could easily back out. If they go down, you lose.

My advice is to keep looking. If you find something in the next 5-6 months, you'll still have time to close before the Kidani 2 bedrooms book up. Based on past booking trends, Kidani 2 bedroom Savanna views will be available well after the 11 month window opens.

Good luck!

I think it will depend on the resort. Some have dedicated 2 BRs, which probably may be available. Others are 1BR with a studio attached. The studios will be gone, so a 2 BR probably will not be available.
