What is your Disney "Happiness" ?

Sitting on the porch at Trail's End looking toward Seven Seas watching my girls play on the playground, listening to the horns of the boats, and updating my travels on Disboards.

My happy is when we pull up to the guard house, because I'm leaving every things else outside. About to start enjoying some great family time, and watch my DW, and two DD's have a good time. DD's love to ride around on the golf cart, then stop at the trading post for something special. Just makes you feel like life is good.:thumbsup2

Leaving the crazy crowds at the parks and coming back to the Fort to relax, ride our bikes, fish, and just geneally chill.

Happiness is sitting in the screen porch of our tent first thing in the morning before the kids wake up with a steaming mug of chai tea in my hand watching the "world" come alive.

Now I'm fantasizing. . . .ahhh, I need to get back!

Getting up in the morning and having that first cup of coffee while sitting under the awning. Hearing the train whistle and boat horn in the distance knowing where we are.

Like PPs, my happiness is waking up to the sounds of nature coming awake, the coffee pot cutting on and I smell my first cup waiting on me and the sound of the boat in the distance. I LOVE the sound of that boat!! :lovestruc

Sittting on the beach at night watching the fireworks and the electrical parade - and realizing how far from "real life" this is..... wishing I could stay there forever.... :lovestruc

Walking or biking through the loops and smiling and saying hello to other smiling fellow campers. You don't get this at hotels.

I agree with the folks who say "Happiness is the morning sounds of the Fort".

It can be the sound of the boat whistles and the steam train from the MK making its first rounds. The busses in the Fort are starting to make their runs. The canopy of the trees comes alive about 30 minutes before sunrise with the birds singing.

I'm not a coffee drinker so there are no sounds of the percolation (I need my morning caffeine from a Diet Coke) but mornings are a special time at the Fort.

Yes! Waking up at the Fort, going outside to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Fort, while thanking The Lord for blessing us with the opportunity to be there. All the while cooking breakfast on the outside kitchen smelling the great bacon, next tot the smell of the pines at Fort, the smell of bacon in the morning is great! That is what brings me happiness at the Fort!

Being on a boat at night, coming back to the Fort after a good meal and maybe catching the MK fireworks from the middle of the lake - and checking for the "bear" at WL before coming home to safe harbor!

I agree with you RVMH.

I remember back in April 2011 I hung around the MK for the evening fireworks while making my way toward the boat dock there at MK. I watched the last of the fireworks from outside the berm and after I'd gone out through the turnstiles.

I hopped on a waiting boat that chugged me back in the darkness to the Fort dock. Everyone got off and walked up toward Pioneer Hall but I hung back. The few folks who had waited for the boat at the Fort gone on and it took off. I was left in the darkness and my ears were ringing from the fireworks. It was SO quiet. That's when I realized that with the morning sounds that one of the things I love about the Fort is the peace and quiet and wide open feeling of relaxation it brings out in me.

Thanks for triggering that memory.

Arriving at the outpost after a very long drive, knowing that We will be there for 10 days.

Finding place where the people are friendly, the entertainment/food satisfies the varying preference of all family members, the weather requires no snow shovel, and each trip is a little different yet familiar.

Yes, so many good memories are triggered on this site. Thanks too for all of your help and advice to folks new to the Fort and for those of us who circle back fairly often.

Happiness is waking up at the Fort . :wizard:

Leaving all schedules and driving behind and just relaxing - we mostly just 'wing it'. Lots of evenings at sunset dh & I love to make our 'rounds' on the lake in the launch that makes a circle to the hotels. We love the sunsets and the 'oh so relaxing' feeling of the gentle breezes on our faces.

Same for us! We are driving from Michigan and staying 10nights as well starting sept 20th! Can't wait to camp in our favorite vacation destination on earth! This is our first trip to the fort since we bought an RV last year. Here we come Mickey!

Being the first one up In the morning and quietly waking my daughter (she enjoys sneaking out with me) for a ride in the golf cart to Trails End for coffee. I love seeing the other early birds who also seem to savor the peace and beauty of early morning at the Fort.

As I write this I realize that the next trip she may have her License so it's possible SHE may drive ME!
