Please can you explain what a Maxell 1/4in Mini Data Cartridge, is and what it does??

That's a wierd thing to give away.

It sounds like a DAT tape. It's high volume storage medium for computers that have the corresponding type of drive to handle it. Not all that common.

I also scored a great new keyboard,and a surge protector!!

Someone in our neighborhood works at a computer job where he does those free rebates and then donates the stuff as prizes.

I have an Hewlett Packard PC at home but we have been having memory prolems as in not enough memory. Would this Data Cartridge be away to extend the memory?

No. It's just for storing things. Think of it as a VCR tape that holds files on it from your PC. Without the right kind of drive, you can't use it anyway.
