What is this big annoucement in Calgary?

A new Disney theme park themed to Frozen, maybe? :confused3

They were going to do that, but since next gen sucked all the money out of the entire disney company, they are selling all the parks to the Auggie Busch legacy. Under this new ownership, the fans will finally get the ride improvements they have been asking for. All the resorts are being turned into casino's that pay off in beer credits.

Odd Calgary of all places.

Calgary is headquarters for Westjet, so that part makes sense. Also, it is being billed as something "that has never happened in Canada before", so I assume that is why the announcement is in Calgary and not wherever head of Disney operations is located.

As a Canadian planning a trip in 2014, I am very interested to hear this announcement tomorrow.

Hopefully they're dropping the price of their direct flights. Going direct from Edmonton is a great idea, but it was over $2000 more than the Delta flight via Minneapolis - I just couldn't justify paying it

$2000more?

then the government cries that they are losing money b/c of shoppers going to the us.

Anyone have any ideas?

We'll all know on December 2.

Media Advisory - WestJet, Disney to make major announcement - http://www.newswire.ca/en/story/1266893/media-advisory-westjet-disney-to-make-major-announcement

I love the marketing hype in the first paragraph:

CALGARY, Nov. 22, 2013 /CNW/ - WestJet, WestJet Vacations and Walt Disney Parks & Resorts (Canada) Ltd invite media from across Canada to the WestJet campus on December 2, 2013, to experience a visually stunning spectacle of magic and mystery, marking the launch of the latest chapter in the story of the innovative and exciting partnership of these two iconic brands.

I guess those of who are not Canadian media people will miss this "visually stunning spectacle of magic and mystery."

We fly United because there aren't direct flights in October from Winnipeg.
The flights also cost more.

A major announcement to me would be to drop prices and add more direct flights.

I know it's satire, but the Anheuser-Busch company (nowdays, foreign-owned) hasn't been in the theme park business for several years (they spun their namesake parks off to a seperate company with the "Sea World' moniker).

Hmm interesting idea. I wonder why Disney hasn't done something similar with Virgin Atlantic in the UK yet? Considering the amount of passengers VA buses in daily on their 747's and how Virgin Holidays has a long partnership with Disney.

This is "a visually stunning spectacle of magic and mystery"? It's pretty but that is so over the top.
