What is there to do at ESPN Wide World of Sports

We are thinking of visiting ESPN WWoS for a while during our visit at the end of this month. I know they have a restaurant there, but are there other things to do if you are a visitor and not a participant in one of the events held there? Just wondering if it is worth a visit, and if so, how long to plan for. TIA!

No. It is basically a sports venue for participating athletes and their families to watch. Unless there is a sport you want to go watch, it would not be worth your time/effort.

There is nothing to do if there isn't an event. Also if there is an event you may have to pay an entrance fee. I'm not sure if the restaurant is even open if there isn't an event?

If there is a runDisney event there will be an expo where they sell running stuff and have seminars but it is possible that it will be rediculously crowded. During other sports events they have different things and sometimes characters but again you usually have to pay for a ticket to the event.

Visiting ESPN when you aren't apart of an event there would not be worth the trip at all.

If you are in the area during baseball spring training the Braves train there so that is fun. I'm not sure if they will be there in 2017 though because I believe their contract with Disney expired at the end of this season and the other MLB teams have left central florida.

Thanks. That is pretty much what I thought, but I saw that Disney included vouchers for entry to ESPN with our travel package so I thought I would check with the DISers before deciding to plan a trip there. I'm glad I did! My kids are huge sports fans, but it doesn't look like there is really anything to draw a casual visitor there.

The vouchers are for the restraunt at the Boardwalk not World Wide of Sports. If you are a sports family and a game you want to watch is goinf on then definitely use the voucher there. They now take lunch ADRs.

My vouchers are just for general admission to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. I wish they were for the restaurant on the Boardwalk. We would like to go there. Glad to hear that they now take ADRs. I will look into making one.

Years ago and I do mean YEARS ago, they had an area where you could do a mock training like a pro football star and some other things. Wish they still had those around for my sports loving boys, but sadly there isn't much to do there anymore unless you want to watch an event.

I got those coupons too for our upcoming trip...wouldn't even think of going there for no reason.....

We used to also have ESPN The Weekend at DHS, real fun areas to try different sport, see a live broadcast of shows, meet and play with sports celebrities, there was a parade....sigh
