Bummed about the bao and the lumpia gone from tropical hideaway. We really enjoyed both.
That's a good tip! I'm going to remember that. I can't recall having it happen but it's too expensive and life's too short to accept a bad MC!The Monte Cristo can be hit or miss. I get it on every trip. When it's good, it's good, but sometimes it's overly greasy. If I get a greasy one, I send it back because I know they can do better.
La Brea Bakery (Pacific Wharf Cafe, now called Aunt Cass Cafe) is a sourdough bread bakery. If you don't like sourdough then it would definitely be a place to avoid. Personally, I love it and it's one of my favorite places to eat, though I've never had the breakfast/french toast. The soup in a sourdough bread bowl makes a great lunch. The worst food I ever ate at Disneyland was at the La Brea Bakery when it was in Downtown Disney and my mom had chosen for us to eat breakfast there and we thought it would be a nice breakfast. So me and Dad ate French Toast and minutes later I noticed it had a funny taste and my father was eating his French Toast too and noticed the funny taste and we thought "what on earth is this?" and it turns out it was sourdough French Toast and I didn't bother finishing my food and neither did Dad
La Brea Bakery is a different company from Boudin Bakery. La Brea is based in Los Angeles, while Boudin is based in San Francisco. I think they make a sourdough but it isn't their specialty. And I don't recall them ever running that cafe/store inside DCA, just the one in Downtown Disney. AFAIK the sourdough place in DCA has always been Boudin.La Brea Bakery (Pacific Wharf Cafe, now called Aunt Cass Cafe) is a sourdough bread bakery. Hey, thanks for the update! I see that they have pork, chicken, and vegetable baos. Those are going on my DL planning list right now!Just saw bao and lumpia is back at tropical hideaway! Although it just says lumpia on the menu and doesn’t say what kind. Lol. I’m hoping it’s pineapple!!

How long ago was this? Did you sub the mashed potatoes for the vegetables? If not, there should have been something on the plate to accompany the protein.Carthay Circle surprisingly. Had booked this as a special anniversary dinner after seeing many positive reviews. Our waitress talked up their great mashed potatoes and rolls to complement our entrees. Once ordered she them came back to inform us they were out of both the rolls and the potatoes but reassured us our entrees would be very filling. My husband had the steak and I had the pork chop. They came with no accompaniments, so we literally just had meat for our special dinner.
Blue Milk!!! YUCKY!!!
