What is the WORST snack or meal you've ever had at DL?

Idk if it’s the worst tasting thing I have eaten at DLR but 10-15 years ago I ate one of the chimichangas from the turkey leg cart. It was at the end of the night and I was starving. Hint: don’t ever get the last chimichanga of the night. I should have known better. I was so sick that night, I never ate another chimichanga again.

Today the lobster nachos :( It used to be our favorite but I had read online that it had gone south and it was not great! They were fine in March. The lobster does not have the same flavor or look good. Will definitely keep an eye on reviews but if we go back it’ll be other items or we will just stick to quick service.

I’m also deathly allergic to shellfish. This is truly shocking to read. Blue Bayou has always gone out of their way for my allergy. Most of the time the chef comes out and speaks to me personally. Was this recent? Now I’m worried to eat there in the future.

This was nearly 7 months ago.

The WORST one I can think of was in DCA from the Lucky Fortune. Maybe I just got a bad one, but the Teriyaki Chicken bowl I got was like 99% rice. Most everything else at DL/DCA I've tried is at least okay if not pretty good, although I don't consider myself a huge foodie. The BEST one lately is the gray stuff (or now Summer Stuff). I don't eat that many sweets, but that is one that I make an exception for and indulge every visit.

Now if you want WORST EVER theme park food that one is easy. Hamburger at SeaWorld San Diego. You wouldn't think you could screw up a $20+ burger so badly, but that thing was absolutely inedible. The "meat" patty did not even look like something for human consumption. Took one small bite, spit that out, and threw the whole thing away and was put off food for days.
I've had this burger before and can concur, absolutely vile.

Last year we had the Minnie & Friends Character Breakfast at Plaza Inn. The characters were great. The food wasn't. Coffee, yuck. I do not know what they use for creamer, but it wasn't dairy. I didn't care for most of the food. I LOVE BREAKFAST TOO. I would not do that breakfast again. I would recommend Character meal at Storytellers Cafe brunch. Coffee at Storytellers was good and they sought out half and half for my coffee. Great food selections too.

I like the ones you can get at Tropical Hideaway - are they similar? I am an easy mark for bao buns!
I don't see bao on the TH menu. Did I read in another thread that maybe Disneyland removed them now that there's a dim sum restaurant in DTD? I don't want a whole dim sum meal, just a couple of bao buns!

I don't think it is because of Din Tai Fung. The Jazz Kitchen sells beignets and they still sell them in NOS as well. Centrico & Paseo offer Mexican food and Cocina and RDZ sell Mexican food in the parks. Naples sells pizza which is also offered in both parks.

They have been featuring bao at the various food festivals in DCA. Currently, they are offering a Red Panda Bao.

Nothing I had on my last trip stood out a great but the worst was the Monte Cristo at Cafe Orleans. It was SOOOO greasy.
I actually really enjoy DL food! Love the clam chowder in a bread bowl, love the pomme frites, etc but the worst thing I ever had was the Monte Cristo at Blue Bajou! I'm Scottish and married a mennonite so don't like to waste but most of this was left on the plate when we were done. It was soooo heavy and greasy that it was unbearable. I am a Canadian and I often wondered if we just don't have things like this so it seemed so over the top? It was ok flavourwise but uneatable by the third bite (and I'm a big dude who likes greasy food!)

I very very rarely eat greasy food. I am not a big bread fan and avoid "heavy" meals. But for whatever reason, I adore the Monte Cristo! The combo of ham, cheese, croissant, in a batter-coated sandwich deep fried, sprinkled with powdered sugar (I think they still do that?) and served with jam to dip in sounds too awful to think about. But holy moly, it's a must-do for me when I go to BB! However, I always split it with someone and I can still only eat half of my half, but I take my other piece for later :)

I think I probably love it since I'm only eating 1/4 of the sandwich. Otherwise, I'd probably be catatonic by the time I finished.

The Monte Cristo can be hit or miss. I get it on every trip. When it's good, it's good, but sometimes it's overly greasy. If I get a greasy one, I send it back because I know they can do better.

That's odd that the bao aren't on the menu. I just posted a few days ago because I saw the lumpia were off the menu, but at that time, the bao were still there. Now it looks like neither is there and the only snack that are listed are the Dole Whips and the watermelon rings. I hope they're just in the process of revising the menu online because otherwise it makes it not even worthwhile to eat there. That's a really nice dining area to only have Dole Whip and watermelon! You'd think they'd want people to be able to order some real food!

Two things...

Popcorn during the captain America show at the hyperion. It was coated to be red white and blue and it was gross. Only ate a few kernels.

Second, I've told this before on this board, but at the blue bayou I was in a group of 8, and they had a special prime rib. 4 or 5 of us ordered that and all of them except mine and maybe one other were inedible because it was more fat than meat. We got reimbursed for the inedible ones.

My experiences at blue bayou are typically good to great.

Turkey legs! I just don’t get it. They are greasy and salty and just yuck 🤢

I like the taste of turkey legs, but I do not want to eat them because they are so messy and unweildy. It also takes me forever to eat one and they are not the kind of snack you can really walk around with. I essentially need a shower after one. They are a hard pass for me, but it's not because of the taste.
