We don't fly out till late afternoon on the day we arrive back in Port Canaveral so we don't want to head out too early,

What is the latest we can get off the ship, I know they have to get ready for the next group coming on but how long can I stay???

Our other alternative is a 11:15AM flight...do you think that would be too close to make it???

Thanks

Kim

Typically it is everyone off by 9AM....That is the lates barring something unforseen...

YOu can get off at the last second, but still getting you to the airport rather early for your flight..MCO is a great airport though...

I should not say this, but I would take that early flight home...That is me, and I have done it, not saying "TO DO IT", just saying I would...I hate waiting all day to get home, when it is enevitable.. :smooth:

DCL wants everyone off by 9:00. Most of the time, this is accomplished, but it is totally dependent on US Customs clearing the ship in a timely fashion. I've sailed onthe Magic 12 times. One time, I was at the airport at 9:30. On another cruise, the big doors didn't open till after 9:30.

DCL suggests that you not book a flight till after 12 or 12:30 or something like that. However, on my next cruise, THEY booked me on an 11:45 flight. I questioned them since it didn't meet their own recommendations. THe CM told me there would be no problem..."we'll get you there in plenty of time."

We were at WDW in June. I will tell you that it did take a long time to get luggage checked in and get thru security at MCL...much longer than at our smaller local airport. Being there 2 hours early was sufficient, but not excessive.

I can't remember what time it was when they pulled me off, kicking and crying. :rotfl2:

Oh I must have been on your cruise, I remember seeing the CM's forceable carrying off a family. :rotfl2:

They say the want you off by 9 am. They opened the doors at 8 am on our cruise, we didn't get in line until 8:30 (after late breakfast) and the line took 45 minutes. I talked to some folks with later flights who were not in a hurry to get off, and said it was 10:15 before everyone could physically get off the ship. There was a steady (but slow) line from 8 to 10:15.
I guess the biggest factor would be when they open the doors, frankly getting 2400 or so people off a ship and thru customs in 2 hours if pretty fast.
Standing in lines is what ate up most of our time, 45 minutes in line on the ship, and using Disney buses we were at the airport at 10:15. Then 90 minutes to clear security at the airport, we barely made our 12:35 flight. We literally walked right on the plane because boarding had already started.

For my first few cruises, I made a point to stay as late as possible, roaming some of the halls. I discovered that I was more depressed doing that, with things so empty and staff naturally preoccupied with preparing for the next group. So nowadays, I get off on time.... though still some sad!!
