What is the price of milk in your neck of the woods?

at the grocery store its $4.29 but we can get it for $2.69 at the gas station (go figure). I could probably find cheaper milk but DH will only drink HOOD.

On one of the morning shows last week, it was mentioned that milk can be frozen with NO change to the taste. (whole,2% and 1%)

Buy several gallons when it is on sale, take the top off and drain out about 2 tablespoons (to allow for expansion) and pop in the freezer! It takes about 24 hours to thaw in the refridgerator.

I tried this with 2% and it did not change the taste at all. When I wanted to thaw the gallon, I took it out of the freezer and let it sit on the counter for about and hour and then put it back in the fridge to let it thaw the rest of the way. Tasted great.

$2.39 a gallon here.

Sounds like we're lucky. Hood is $2.69/gallon at both Market Basket and the corner convenience store. The MB store brand is $2.49. Both are for 1% milk.

I paid $4.19 for a gallon. Ridiculous!! My family are huge milk drinkers. I might need to find a 2nd job!

Isn't it strange how milk prices are all over the map. The cheapest I've been able to find around here (at a gas station of all places) is $3. It's $3.09 at Aldi, $3.59 at CVS and $3.99 and $4.09 at the two grocery stores I shop at. I've not made it to WalMart lately -- I like the prices but getting in and out is such a production. Our WalMart has like 25 cash registers and there are never more than seven or eight open. It's impossible to make a quick trip there.

I'm trying not to buy it at the grocery stores, but my three boys go through over a over a gallon a day and sometimes I just don't have time to go somewhere else. Do you realize my milk budget is almost as much as CindyB's grocery budget!?

The milk here is only 1.99 a gallon. Have seen price increases in cheese, though.

I think its up to $3.69 or so not at BJ's.

The last time I looked it was $4.24/gal at the grocery store. I usually buy my milk and break at Costco. It was $2.99/gal the last time I shopped.
