What is the next closest DVC to Swan and Dolphin? aside from BC and BW

Depending on your funding source for the conference, Uber and charge it back to the business. Deductible expense or expense report item woo woo.

I am partially self-employed so i'll take any write offs that i can get, so this is a good option if we can't get BW

If staying at SSR or OKW, you can easily take a bus to the Studios and then walk (Less than 10 minutes) or boat over to the Swan/Dolphin as it's the 1st stop. It's free! This is how we travel around property when staying at the Boardwalk.
If doing this then how early do the buses start? We sometimes have meetings that start at 6am. As much as i like to skip them some of them are the more interesting ones to attend.

I am in the process of getting a transfer of BW points, unfortunately i do not have the points myself to rent to off set the costs (but will try to write off the expense) because we are saving them for our 2018 trip. Hoping to snag a BW studio - so far they are open but knowing my luck they will book up in the next week before i get the points.

I ended up booking the BWV garden view, put in a request for the section closest to the swan and dolphin!! Hopefully the room request works out. We are two fairly active people so to have a 10 or 15 min walk to the conference center isn't the end of the world. I am sure at 5:30 in the morning it is a pleasant walk.

It is -- in a strange, surreal way.

Our conference was in January -- so the walk was often cold and damp but filled with hearty exchanges of, "Good morning!" with staff as they prepared 'the World' for the unfolding day. It is a time when 'normal guests' aren't expected and the presence of one 'commuting to work' (trudging along to a conference session) alongside the staff ushers the guest into a slightly different view of 'the World.' For me, I always come away with a stronger sense of 'being HOME' than when visiting the same place for vacation purposes. I s'pose that sense comes from the notion of 'walking to work' -- truly commuting -- from the comfort and safety of my condo at BWV. ;)

Enjoy it!

OKW is about 2.8 miles, after that the Poly and AKV Jambo will be the next closest then VWL then SSR. My vote would be AKV in this situation if I couldn't stay someplace I could at least walk. Usually the Swan/Dolphin have pretty good prices for such situations. One thing to consider is one can't deduct the use of the timeshare or get reimbursed where applicable unless a company is willing to do per diem for housing which most don't.
