What is the Meanest or Nicest Thing your Teenager

"I'm so glad we're perfect"

Of course, it has been a running joke for I don't know how long about how "we" are perfect.

Makes my parents want to choke. I am not sure why, though.

My 19 year old (almost not a teenager anymore, yikes!!) still tells her friends that her mom rocks. That's about as good as it gets. :D

She also tells me that I look much younger than my age. Yippee!!

DD (actually stepdaughter, but she is like my own), told her teacher that when she was in the fifth grade, that I was nowhere near the way Cinderella portrayed a stepmother. She has told her father that I am more of a mother to her then her biological mother.

"I'm gonna go live with grandma!"

Grandma tried to snatch custody when my DW passed and sued me when that didn't work. Needless to say the comment struck me to the bone! But that's what she wanted to do at the time. A few weeks later I called her bluff when she brought it up again. She stopped her arguing immediately and within a few minutes she even apoligized.:)

Teens are Tough!!!

A year or two ago I told my dad I hated him in a fit of teenage rage and it is something i regret with all my heart. The look on his face when I said it is a look I never want to see. I could see the hurt in his eyes and after a day of getting over my anger and being afraid to talk to him, I went up and apologized but I will never say those words to him again.

I didn't know it until a few years later but when my son was a senior in high school, he did some home repairs for a female partner in my husband's law firm. Apparently he told her that I was the smartest person he had ever known.

That made me cry when she told me that. I don't have anywhere near the amount of formal education my husband has, yet he said that about me. I didn't tell his Dad, though.

Awww, I love these stories. Both the sad ones and the happy ones.

And Kath, your story made ME cry! I can see why Travis said that about you, I think you are very wise and smart too. :)
