What is the likelihood of getting this ADR?

Hi guys! I am wondering what the likelihood of being able to do this is....

I am wanting to get Chef Mickeys for breakfast for a party of 9 for a Saturday morning in August on my son's bday. I will not be a resort guest this time around so I will have to book exactly 90 days out.

Will I be able to get it?

If it is doubtful, would I be able to get it if less of us went. (like only my family of four instead of grandparents and the whole crew)??

What experiences have people had at CM for bdays lately? In 2006 we did my other son's bday there for bfast and it was really nice and they brought over a cupake and Mickey stood behind my son and blew out the candle with him. Great picture op!!!

Should I prep my son that it might not be the same experience he sees the pictures of his older bro getting? Should I order a cake?

I highly doubt it. Chef Mickeys is a tough ADR even for guests staying onsite and throw in a Sat morning and that makes it even worse! I will send you some pixie dust but hopefully you might get another character ADR. Are you doing the parks? Tusker house is great in AK and crystal palace is also nice. You might also they the Lilo and Stich at Poly or Cape may at Beach club. Most resteraunts treat birthday guests special.

Yes we will be doing parks. We will have annual passes actually. We are going in May for our main trip, staying at Poly, doing the whole thing the way we normally do.

Then this August trip got brought up to go with my inlaws and stay off property in a rental home with a pool. We decided to do it but we've never stayed off property before when doing Disney. We decided to get the APs because of the 2 trips.

My 6 year olds bday falls during the August trip which (we'll be there 1st thru 9th) is what made us decide to go even though we were already doing Disney in May. My older son who will be 9 celebrated his 6th bday at Chef Mickeys and we thought it would be great to continue on with the tradition. We also thought going to CM would be great because my inlaws would like it but they are not going to have Disney passes for the whole time we are there. They are going to relax at pool, golf, and do maybe one day at Disney. My family of four will probably do Disney everyday to make use of our APs.

I do not know whether we should try for CM for everyday that we are there and hope that we at least get one day or if we should try another character meal for his bday (Sat. Aug 8th) or just try getting everything we can and then figure it out or cancel some after the fact.

I hate to wait until 90 days before his actual bday and then not get anything because his bday is on the last full day of our trip and we will be flying out the next day.

Suggestions?

Bottom line is he is really excited to blow out his candle with Mickey on his actual bday. ??
