What is the hersheys SW promo all about?

Ok looks like I missed something special. Ive read in some other thread that hersheys had a voucher for SW airlines. Is it too late to get in on it? Could someone explain to me what was involved in the promotion? Thanks soooo much !

About 1 1/2 years ago Hershey ran a promotion in which one could collect UPC's from Hershey products and send them in to recieve SWA gift certifictaes.
As I recall, I sent in 175 UPC's from Hershey Candy bars (full size) and received $150 in SWA gift certificates. Some folks did very well collecting UPC's and got much more $$$ in gift certificates.

Yes...unfortunately its over. The gift certificates have no expiration date though, thats why it keeps popping up here and there as we all use them.
Me and several other posters are hoping for another promo like that one. These boards are a good place to check for anything like that. Good news like that promo spreads real fast on these boards.

the certificate we got had an expiration date on it March 30/02

and you could not use it on fare specials....

just on regular flights....

so it did not save us anything....since we usually get the discount fares...

but the chocolate was good....=)

Ohhhh...I wonder if they ran out of that kind and started giving regular gift certificates? I expected to get them with an expiration date and was thrilled when they didn't have one. And they had no restrictions at all......

I was able to rack up $300 in SW gift certificates(and @30 lbs. from the chocolate) with that promo, and I started late. My DH suggested I could just buy the SW tickets for the same price as all those Hershey bars, but by doing the promo I had tickets and chocolate We used the gift certificates to fly to Orlando for mine and DH's 10th anniversary(celebrated on the Disney Wonder). The only drawback to the gift certificates: you had to purchase tickets at the counter(not online)which was 1.5 hours from me. A week after I purchased tickets, the fare was discounted by $20, so I called SW. I was assured I could get the $20 per ticket discount at the counter at check-in. I did get the discount, but in the form of 2 $20 vouchers that expire in a year. My gift certificates did not have an expiration date, though.

We actually did really good with this one... I got the candy for 187.00 & got 600.00 worth of vouchers... I don't remember how I did it though LOL... I was thrilled when I got them, our vouchers did not have expiration dates or names on them... Right now is a great time to use them due to the Friends Fly Free promotion, but it didn't work out for us because we're not going til Mid-November & the promotion will be over, so we used our delta credit to get a r/t price of 100.00 per person coming back the Sunday after Thanksgiving... We'll use the Southwest Certificates next year!
