What is the funniest "not quite right" name for an attraction you have heard?

Downtown Disney is known as Disney Village to us ;)

Yep, we still call it Disney Village too. Or "Marketplace"

Oh, I just thought of another. My family thought that the Diamond Horseshoe WAS the Hoop Dee Doo revue. Or at least that's what my parents told us it was. So about 18 years back dh and I booked the Hoop Dee Doo and luckily realized before we arrived that the Hoop Dee Doo was at FW and was NOT in MK.

my nephew is 2and a half for our trip last month. we went on snow white and as the ride started I realized how "dark" it is. He really isn't afraid of things so I didn't want to tramatize him so I kept saying "oh there's that silly old lady again", "oh there she is again being silly". So I thought I had safely averted any trama and he would remember other rides and so one would think I was the bad aunt. that was our first day at MK. Every time we would go to another park and say we were going to go on rides now, he would say laugh and say "can we go on the scary lady ride?" that little stinker.

and last week I asked him to tell my other niece (who is going for the first time next week) what rides she should go on and out of his mouth "Go on the Scary Lady Ride". argh, I am always in trouble

I still call HS MGM. Saying "Hollywood Studios" is a mouth full. my gram calls MK "Disney". that bugs me. she also calls it "Dizzy" too. but this last trip was her first of probably 20 that she had ever stayed onsite so I had to keep correcting her that at CBR we were in Disney. ;) okay so I am a little bit of a brat.

My then 4 yr old cousin called the Peter Pan Flight Ride, Peter Pants. He is 14 now and still still call it Peter Pants.:rotfl:

After spending the evening at Hollywood Studios, my dd 4 announced very loudly on the bus back to our resort that she wanted to ride the "Tower of Terrorists" again.:rolleyes1

When people refer to Disney World as DisneyLand =[

My grandmother calls Epcot, Ec-pot. Understandable with old age comes no teeth.

When people refer to the Tree of Life as, "take a left at that animal tree" seriously you WORK there.

Lol, that's all I can think of for now. =)

me and my frineds call the Primeval Whirl the Hurly Whirly xD

My ds accidently referred to LMA as 'star c*nt show' (he meant to say car stunt show)

We call the Swan & the Dolphin, "The Trout & The Duck"

The dolphin does NOT look like a dolphin. :rotfl:

It's been on ongoing family joke for years. I'm sure people think we're nuts.

I know the diference between WDW and DL but I usually call WDW disneyworld. Say Walt Disney World can be a mouthful but I do know thats the official name:thumbsup2
Ditto! ::yes::

Sometimes I even just say "Disney", but that's when I'm referring to Disney parks in general, not a specific park. Like "next trip to Disney", could mean DL or WDW, I might not be sure yet which one I'll go to next.

:rotfl: Dh does this too, except he calls them "the fish and the duck". ;)

Rest assured, that is what it will be referred to in this household from now on. Too funny. :lmao:

My DS, 5, wants to ride "It's a Small Small World" again. Not that it's a Disney ride, but he also wants to go to "Fan Sanfrisco." He refers to the "rocket ship" (Space Mountain), the "big ball" (Spaceship Earth), and the "Stitch burp." Oh, and the Polynesian is the "Lilo and Stitch Hotel."

My DGD (5) calls Tower of Terror..."Ticky Towers". We don't know why and we have corrected her several times.

She also calls the monorail.... "the travel".

I also had to google Monsters Inc acronym. :rolleyes1
Imagine my shock: I thought it had something to do with Mothers-in-Law. :rotfl:

I still call Hollywood Studios MGM, thats just a habit. And TTA i call the people mover. When i was little i would call SE the golf ball too, haha i think everyone has at some point :)

That's because it's a dolphin-fish (as in, Mahi Mahi). And I'm not joking! :rotfl:

My pet peeve is people that refer to WDW as Disneyland. BIG difference people!

:rotfl:

I teach an undergraduate class about the cultural impact of WDW and the amount of times I read in essays about Disneyland Florida, Walt Disney Land, Disney World California, and this from students who I have spent 10 weeks lecturing to:mad:
