What is the "free vacation" if you buy SSR?

I have read about several people receiving e-mails offering a free Disney vacation with a purchase of SSR.

Is this the same e-mail that some members have been receiving-I did not get mine-or is this something else that went out to non-members.

Is the free Disney vacation the same thing as the free pts they are offering if you buy or add-on?

Thanks in advance for any info.:D

Ok.

Hope this helps. We just bought at SSR. The sheet reads as follows:

Purchase an ownership interest at SSR represented by ____ Vacation Points today and choose ONE of the following options:

Credit Option: $10 per point toward downpayment and keep your first year vacation points

OR

Vacation Option: based on size of the ownership interest purchased

Vacation Point levels give you certain developer points to take vacation.

Developer points can be used to book a vacation at most Disney hotels and DVC resorts.

Our guide said there are a bunch of restrictions to the trip. Including a certain timeframe it had to be taken in 2004. That didn't work for us.

We took the credit. Hope that helps in your decision making.

robmary,

Thanks. I was able to talk to another guide today. Mine is on vacation.

He stated same as the above. We have been thinking about adding on at SSR. I just wanted to make sure that the "developer pts" offer was the same offer that some people were receiving via e-mail for a free vacation with SSR purchase.

It is the same offer.

I agree, the credit seems to be a much better deal. We just don't know if we will add on now or wait until we our "home" in October.

Good luck with your SSR purchase. :D

Be sure to keep in touch with your guide. My guide indicated that the incentives are scheduled to end October 31. Of course, they could be extended. And if you are there in October you will be ok anyway. Still, I'd make sure my guide notified me in case of any change in the incentives.

When we bought at the BCV Feb 02, we had the option of the $10 or 7 days at any other WDW Hotel. Since we already had reservations at the Yacht Club for Sept of that year we selected the 7 days. When I calculated it out it ended up saving us several hundred dollars.

Since we had never stayed in the Epcot area, it was a great way to check it out. The only downside which did not bother us, is you had to stay at a hotel and not a DVC property which means hotel room instead of 1 bdrm.

I also believe at that time the more points the more days you received.

I also read they were going to end Oct. 31. We will be there before then and I have a GREAT guide who always calls me back within about an hour of leaving a message-I'm pretty lucky.

We may still add on before October. We were going back and forth between BCV and SSR but I think our use year at BCV is gone.

I actually think they are going to be offering some type of incentive long after Oct. 31. It may not be the same as what they are offering now but I just don't see them stopping incentives before the resort even opens. What do you think.

Thanks for the info.

I agree that they may offer some type of incentive after Oct 31. Six months is a long time to be selling SSR before it opens without an incentive. However, at best it would be equal to what is offered now, otherwise they would have a lot of disgruntled buyers who bought early. I think they will either extend the current incentives, or offer something less, like maybe $5/point, or some form of MB.
