We did the family plan at the Contemporary. It was great. We probably used $500 worth of water mice over a week for $200. You can have up to 5 boats out at a time. I think they may limit it to a week now.

I thought it was only available at Contemporary, Poly and Wildnerness Lodge. I hope it is available at BW. (Otherwise we won't do it this year.)

By the way, they actually forgot to bill us the $200 last year. I didn't find out till I went over the bill at home.

The magic just keeps on comin!!:hyper:

We are wanting to do this while at WDW in June. We have 6 nights reserved at BWV, and 3 more at OKW(gotta keep hubby happy). Is it possible to get the plan once, and it cover the entire 9 nights, or even 7 nights, even though only 6 will be spent at BWV? Also, we have a 2-bedroom and a studio reserved, will have 3 adults(over 21), and the rest are kids. The "kids" are two 15-year-old girls, four 14-year-old girls, a 9-year-old girl, and one very out-numbered 11-year-old boy. Would we need 2 plans, or can we just put down the oldest 5 people(basically the 15-year-olds and the 3 adults) as drivers, or are we limited to 5 people total on each plan? I think the teens(and hubby, a big kid himself) would like to do this an afternoon or two, and I wouldn't mind renting a bike once or twice. After purchasing 4-day hoppers for all these girls, plus a waterpark day, I need to watch what I spend on everything else! Thanks for any help.

12 and above can drive. 5 sign up -- I don't know if you can switch out. We stayed at OKW and used the Contemporary plan ie. you don't have to be staying at the resort.

The plan is LIMITED to ONE RESORT. If you sign up at Contemporary, you can ONLY use boats from the Contemporary. So if they have the plan at Boardwalk (I'm not sure), and you sign up there, then you'd have to go back to Boardwalk from OKW to use the boats.

You have to check back every hour to make sure they don't need the boat.

When we purchased the plan last year at VWL, we were told that the plan was only good for the WL boat dock and bike rentals...it was not good to rent boats or bikes anywhere else on property.

You have to be at least 12 years old and 5 feet tall to take out a boat. The bikes don't have age or height restrictions. But yes, you can only list 5 people on the plan for the basic cost.

However, the limit of 5 people is for those who drive the boats...they can take passengers with them of pretty much any age or size. And they have, at VWL anyway, pontoon boats that will hold up to 12 people that you can take out.

The bikes however, will be restricted to your five people on the plan.

If you're only planning to do this once or twice, it might just be cheaper to go ahead and rent the boat/bikes for the hourly rate. It takes several hours of usage to break even on the plan, as I recall.

sign up at one of the monorail resorts, you have a much bigger lake to use and the boats are faster. If you stay at BWV, you go to YC/BC to sign up and the mouse boats are slower because of the canals. And where ever you sign up , that is where you can only use it.:earseek: :earseek:

Just returned from VWL and found out that the family plan is no longer! Yep, no longer. I had to beg them to let me have it for this trip but officialy its over. Good Luck!

Oh, what a BUMMER!!!! :(

I knew that was way too good of a deal to last! It would be nice if they come up with something to replace it in some form or another.

Or of course, they could offer a nice DVC discount...that would seem appropriate and be much appreciated. :)

I can't believe I had never heard of this. We stayed at the CR the past 2 years & loved using the water mice.

Looks like we won't even get a chance now anyway. :(
