What is the deal with cash reservations?

I am anxiously awaiting our first trip home next year! We need to pay cash for two nights and were going to stay at a different resort. Then I read somewhere that DVC members can get a discount on DVC room cash reservations? Can anyone fill me in - would love to save some $$!

I believe the discount is 25% but it isn't always applicable, you will just have to ask and see.

As hellerjw posted, the member discount is 25% off rack rate (when available). It is only available for the DVC resorts and you must book through MS (not CRO or WDWTC) to get it.
