What IS the cost of water in the parks?

When we were there in Dec 09 it was $2.50 for a reg. size Dasani.

They do have another water available, don't remember the brand but it is more than $3.00 per bottle.

It's Smart Water, and no it didn't make me any smarter, I tried it. :)

It may have been $2.75 for a Dasani, and the other, bigger bottle, is Smart Water. It was between $3-$4. You do know you can get a cup of ice water for free?

Someone can correct me if I am wrong - but I was told that it is cheaper at the resorts in their little canteens if you want to stock up daily before you go.

i have never understood buying water, dont get me wrong my wife always has is in the house, but i just use water fountains in the parks.......i know...i know....some of you think....YUCK......other people have been there.......but.......i keep up with WDW news and have never read about a water fountain related illness or death. remember also that others are thinking that YOU have drank from there too........and your thought would be.............so?

not true. Bottled water on property is standard pricing. Dasani is $2.50, Smart Water is $3 or $3.50

dalt01 its not the germs that is the reason most of us don't drink from the fountains, its the taste of the water. I prefer to get the filtered water from CS locations for free, doesn't have the bad taste that is found in the fountains, I also prefer my water cool or cold which I havn't had good luck finding in the fountains, at CS locations you get it on ice.

Thanks everyone!

Yes, I do know about the free water/ice at the counters. I also purchased the filtered "bobbles" for us when they went on sale here.

However, somehow in the past 2 months I ended up not being able to eat/drink any dairy products unless they are lactose free. Not impressed!

So I wondered if my stomach might get upset even after the water goes through the filter... I sure hope not but it will be the first time out of Ontario for my tummy.

And I thought I read somewhere that a bottle cost $5! :scared1: I wondered if that was true. Glad to hear it's not that expensive. At least, not yet.

Did you know that Dasani is just tap water run through a filter? It's really not any different than filtered CS water. Actually, at the Indianapolis Bottling plant the Dasani comes from Coke's own well water supply, not even city tap water. I decided from now on I'm only paying for bottled water that says "Spring" no more "filtered"! Ew.

I dont know how long you are staying and if it would be worth it cost wise...but you can get 36 bottles of Aquafina from Garden Grocer for around $9. We order from them all the time and have it delivered to our hotel. There is a minimum order amount though...I think it is $40 and a delivery charge...but since you are concerned about your "tummy" ;) you also might be able to order non dairy items you are used to ...just another thought...Enjoy your trip.

I'm right there with ya, heck when we were kids playing outside you went to garden hose for a cold drink! :thumbsup2 Now I only drink bottled water since I've had my transplant. :goodvibes

People from different places just might not be used to the minerals etc in tap water outside of there home area. I was stationed temporarily in west Texas and the tap/fountain water there gave me and my co-workers an upset stomach. The people who were stationed there permanency and had been there a while had no problems with it. Now at WDW and similar places I like to have a bottle of water for the convenience of having it with me all the time. Here at home I have a refillable water bottle, but I'll carry a few plastic bottles at WDW so I don't have to go looking for a fountain every time I want a sip.

I could put toilet water in a bottle and nobody would know the difference! :)

Not too many years ago, Disney used to carry Zephyrhills Spring Water ( afavorite down here in these parts) instead of Dasani. But I guess the Coke people, as part of their contract, decided to force them to sell their water (Dasani). Now, no more Zephyrhills is sold on property, other than the gas stations.

I order a couple big cases from GardenGrocer along with our snacks and other supplies and have it delivered to the hotel, then we take them to the park. Our family can't really handle spending up to $15 everytime we need water.
