What is the clostest hotel to disney?

It seems that most of the hotels within walking distance are pretty much ticky-tacky motel-type places. Does anyone know what is the "nicest" hotel within walking distance...one with a more sophisticated resort feel? (Other than the onsite hotels, of course). Thanks

Not sure how upscale you want to go, but HoJo's is a good compromise for many people. I seem to remember it was voted the nicest HoJo's in the whole country. It is nicer than most of the others there on Harbor, and still not too bad of a walk.

A similar distance is the Candy Cane Inn. I have never stayed there, but many people around here speak highly of it.

Yes, I was thinking about the Embassy Suites, or perhaps the Hyatt. I'd really like to stay walking distance, however, Tripadvisor reviews on the HoJo are kind of mixed, but a lot of people seem to have liked it a lot. Anybody have any other upscale options?

We stayed at the HOJO and for some reason I was not impressed at all! I probably won't stay there again. It did have free internet though which is a plus!

Near DL, don't hold your breath! There really isn't anything "nice" within walking distance unless you stay on site, PP, DLH or GC. The best suggestion I can give is the Candy Cane Inn and it is about a 10-15 minute walk. There are Embassy Suites, a Double Tree, Hilton and Hyatt, but they are not in walking distance, unless you want to walk for 30 minutes to the park. You can always take the ART transport system, its pretty quick and easy. I myself prefer a resort like feel too, but when we go to DL, I have to majorly compromise and remember that we are there to be at DL (which I love). So we stay across the street and try to find the cleanest place.

So I havent heard a thing on the Tropicana. Thats the one I picked. Will I have to fend off bugs? or be grossed out?! What site will let me know more about this place?

What is the clostest hotel to the crosswalk that goes to the gates of disneyland?? Thank you

Candy Cane is supposed to be very nice and offers a shuttle. Embassy is nice but not walking distance. Staying on property may be the best of both worlds
