What is the closest hotel to World Wide Of Sports?

SIL just called me to ask this question. They are leaving in two days for the Kick line competition. They are looking to meet my neices boyfiend there. Also does anyone know if there Disney Transportation to wide world of sports from any of the hotels?

I have to go to WWS to pick up marathon tix and was told to take a resort hotel bus to DTD and then get the WWS bus from DTD.

according to the map, DWWSC is south of Hollywood Studios and SE of Animal Kingdom; appears that Pop Century is the closest DISNEY hotel. Not sure if you're looking for overall closest or just Disney closest hotel???

Pop Century, the three All Stars resorts, and Caribbean Beach Resort are the closest to WWoS. Unless things have changed in the past few months, the ONLY Disney Transport bus service to WWoS is to/from Disney's Hollywood Studios, NOT from Downtown Disney.

It is very common for CMs at the Disney Reservation Center to give incorrect information about things that are not a specific part of their job. They are experts in resort reservations, park tickets, and dining reservations. Sadly, they really can't be relied upon for other info, and even more sadly, there really is no place else to call for general WDW info.

That is correct! We go every year at the end of Jan./1st of Feb. for the dance competition and stay at the all star sports. From that facility our organization has chartered buses to take us to wide world of sports. We check every year before we go and it has always been the same. The ONLY transportation to WWS is from DHS and that is not a regular bus that runs as frequently as all of the resort buses do!
Many people on our team decide to do their own package to stay at a better resort, and also because it is a little cheaper than the "group" packages we get. However, once they get there and have to have a rental car along with paying a daily fee to enter the WWS they see that they didn't make such a good choice after all!

Taxi, or take the bus from AKL to DHS, then the bus from DHS to WWoS.

The last few years we've attended events at WWOS. The bus from DHS was not located at the park entrance. It was "behind" the park. We stayed at S/D and took the walkway that's by BWV. Anyone know if this is still in place? We'll be there again in 2 weeks.

Do you mean for WDW Marathon weekend in January? Buses run from the resorts to the expo at WWoS starting on Thursday. They run pretty frequently.
