What exactly is the Castaway Club? Is this for previous DCL cruisers? If so, should I have a club number since I sailed back in 2001? What benefits do you receive?

Thanks y'all!

We cruised in 03/04 just got our cards today as a matter of fact. Had to call to get them. Actually called a few times. I would call the number on the DIS website.

It for people who cruise with disney before, since you did cruise with them in 2001. Disney should have sent you a card, with a number on it. which is your castaway club #. The next time you cruise you will get pin and towel in your stateroom and you get invited to a party, too.

If you didn't get a card you should call the cruise line.

You also get to go in the C Club line at the terminal for checkin & for us there was noone in front of us. :)

We also cruised in 2001 and I had to call to get my card. DH has never gotten anything from CC. You could try to call 1-800-449-3380, that's the phone number on the fromt of my card. They may be able to look up your information for you and send out a card.

I would say only a small percentage of folks who have cruised DCL have ever received a card....DCL is very unorganized when it comes to these cards.

But, the good news is that you really do not need the physical card at all...what you do need is the number on the card. That is what you need to have put on your new ressie in order to get any of the above mentioned benefits. There is no point in the cruise (even at checkin) that you need to show the card.

Just call DCL and have them look up your CC number and make sure they apply it to your current reservation....it is not automatically done.

They really need to step-up the benefits in the Castaway Club. Other cruise lines seem a little more "appreciative" towards their return customers. Are you listening DCL?!?!? :listen:

On my cruise on the Wonder last week, I got invited to a private reception with the crew including very nice appetizers and free drinks. They forgot the towel and pins though, but since I knew about it from these boards I called guest services and was able to pick it up before we left the ship. Nice!

On our 2nd DCL cruise, 1/2003 on the Magic, the Castaway Club party onboard had only nasty little hors d'oerves being passed around, and remembering that, we were about to skip he CC reception on the Wonder in 1/2005. I passed by, on my way back to the stateroom from Diversions (they were showing a half hour of classic ESPN commercials--I loved it!) and I looked in and saw this nice buffet, so I went and got DW and DS, and we sure enough ruined our appetite for dinner.

The Royal Caribbean Crown & Anchor Club sends a quarterly magazine, maybe every two months? not sure of the frequency, but in any event it has a variety of coupons, so I did save $25 off the cost of my next RCCL cruise. Hey, its the little gestures sometimes, and DCL isn't knocking $25 of for being a returning guest. I'm a big fan of DCL, but the Castaway Club's biggest benefit is the private check in line (probably save me 30-40 minutes in January, though I noticed they restructured how it was set up in the past 2 years), and it is a nice towel, but we are getting our 3rd such towel next month. Never thought I'd say this, but for once in my life, I would rather have a T-shirt!!

And the T-shirt would be walking around advertising for DCL--no one sees the towel in my linen closet.
