I can't remember for sure if it is reproduction of a classic 1930's Chris Craft speed boat or a new brand of boat that looks like one. It is a beautiful speed boat that can be found at the Yacht Club. I talked to the Captain one night about 10 years ago and he told me all about it but I don't remember all of the details now. All I remember is that it was built in limited numbers and that it was very expensive. Sorry but I don't know the cost of a cruise.
You can see info and picture of the Breathless on allearsnet.com
Look under "Beyond the Parks" then down the left side for Illuminations Cruises. You'll see Breathless there.
We've never done it, but were thinking of booking it for our parent's anniversery. Anybody share their experiences?
Several years ago my family did the Illuminations cruise on the Breathless. It could have been an extremely romantic time (but we had our two DDs with us). I would love to do it again someday. Well worth the money.
And as for the boat.. it is a reproduction of a 1930's runabout.
A gorgeous boat but if you have any mobility limitations e.g. bad knees, hips, back etc., do not do it! I had great difficulties getting out of the boat, due to bad knees, and then my knee gave out on me and I ended up with a huge "hidden mickey" bruise on my leg/knee. You have to climb down into the boat and then climb back out. They do not tell you that this boat may be difficult to get into and out of.
