What is the biggest issue currently facing your town?

I don’t think our little town really has any issues. We live in a little village that’s like Mayberry. I guess maybe the occasional speeder?

This is crazy; at the entrance to our subdivision and golf course there's a roundabout. In the center is a windmill (purely decorative) no one will maintain it. Our HOA has been battling the city over who exactly owns the darn thing. The city says the subdivision owns it (?) and the HOA says nope. Our local FB page lit up. People got the name of our ward alderman, did an email blitz to him and filled out complaint forms with the village. Well now the city says they'll 'sell' the roundabout to the subdivision. So the HOA says "fine we'll buy it and maintain it for $1.00" - after the dust settled suddenly, after 2 years someone came and mowed around the windmill, of course the grass is long dead. pathetic.

Our town is facing a huge issue where a former town selectman quietly passed a law (with the minimal amount needed at town meeting) that changed the zoning laws then once he was no longer a selectman purchased a few properties in residential neighborhoods and has now sold them to massive warehouse/trucking companies and there's nothing anyone can do about it due to the law he got passed when he was in power. It's craziness.

We had a huge storm about 5 hours ago. Major power outages and tons of trees down.

Homelessness, mental health & drug use. They go hand in hand. Many of the homeless are homeless due to mental health issues & drug use, which in a lot of cases circles back to mental health.
That is our big issue here too for the same reasons. And the roots of the issue go back to decisions made in the early 1960's.

They keep building and building and in the course of action neglected to put in any "services" no grocery, delivery, nothing. The roads can't handle all the new subdivisions it's awful. Housing is out of control. Lucky for us, most of the homeless are closer into the city.

Right now subdividing a lot and tearing down a historic home and building two homes. A friend‘s company recently bought the house for $600,000 (originally wanted $900,000). The lot is on a very nice street, but the house needs work, and is set back on the property so no backyard, and the taxes are $25,000 a year due to the size of the property. I see both sides.
