Don't know if I should post on the cruise boards or not but here goes.

We are just dh and Iand are planning to be at WDW for 2 days prior to the cruise. How much are DISNEY transfers to the ship and back? Is there a cheaper way? Does the transfer back drop you at the airport?

After the cruise we wanted to get dropped at MCO because we want to rent a car for our resort week off-site.

Thanks for any ideas.

Can't answer all your questions but: the disney bus transfers will take you where ever you want to go. From resorts to port canaveral (pc) to airport (mco). From mco to pc. Whatever you want to do.

Some resorts are "cruise" resorts. if your staying onsite, even if your NOT in there official program (land & sea) you can go through them and they will take your luggage etc.. . and catch the bus. IE= we went not land & sea and where at contempary Not cruise resort but told if we were interested to drag our luggage to the polynesia resort & do our documents etc.. . & luggage there. (they have the desk).

Call the disney cruise 800# & they will tell you all about the $$$price of transfers and where to pick you up & what arrangments etc.. . you can do. If your at one of there resorts they might suggest using there cruise desk. That's how the above thing came up with us.

As far as a "cheaper" way? Depends if your on the "7 day" then the parking is $70.00 + rental car prices your paying and not using car. Makes this VERY expensive. BUT we where just on the 3day wonder & it was $30.00 parking and I had a fantastic rate for the length of our stay 18 days for $313.00 national rental car's emeral aisle. So we just kept the car, and parked it. It was SO convient!!!! We did this on our 1st cruise too.

Some people rent a car and then return it to somewhere near the port and pick up a car at the same place near the port when the ship returns. But your riding around with shuttles etc... . if you don't mind.

Then there's always the "limo" service alternative. Or town car. Lots of these are available and all have rates online and show rates to and from the port.

We still found that the car and parking it with my rates where cheaper in the long run. I would work out all the options & pick which is the best. Keep playing with the car rates & codes. Persistance pays off!

Any other questions I can help let me know. ::MickeyMo

We typically use Happy Limo for our Disney cruises because it is quick, painless, and they do a grocery stop. However, we have also done one-way car rentals through Budget too (not bad, but you have to take the shuttle from the car rental office to the port).

The DCL busses are nice and convenient but get you to the terminal kind of late, depending on which resort you are at. If you want to get to the terminal early, then a limo service or rental car is the way to go.

after leaving the ship you can rent a car near the port (budget comes to the ship to get you) and return it to the airport when your vacation is over. then you don't have to pay disney transfer or limo for thate return trip.
