What is the best time of year to take a Disney Cruise?

Fall is less expensive than the peak sailings (spring break, summer, holidays, special cruises). SOME spring sailings are less expensive. We are sailing the last week of April and it was much less than the spring break cruises and the summer cruises. We did have a cruise booked for the end of May but changed it to April but it was a lot less expensive than the summer cruises.

If kids are out of school then chances are the rates are higher. ;)

We actually picked the first week in May because it was supposed to be a slow week at Disney. We have always had to go in the busy Summer months so we are excited!! Well then they did the Spring promotion and now all of a sudden the rooms are booked and it is hard to get dining reservations. Oh well for it being a slow week.
We are hoping the cruise part of the vacation isn't as bad. :goodvibes
I am guessing it is like WDW in that it has certain weeks the ship is less full.

Our favorite month to cruise is September. Yes, it is still hurricane season, but we have never had a problem (knock on wood). The weather is typically AWESOME, and the water in the carribean is still VERY warm and we have very little wind. We had more "spring showers" during the spring season than we did during "hurricane season". The rates also drop DRASTICALLY the week after labor day. It is also the least crowded month. We have never had a full ship. Kids just went back to school and most parents don't want to pull them out to miss days when they just started. My DD is on a "year round" calendar, so she gets the 3rd week off anyway. Again, we have NO COMPLAINTS with September cruisin'.

The weather in the Caribbean will be warm yearround, but the Bahamas can be chilly. Castaway Cay isn't that far south of Florida, so if Florida is cold, the Bahamas will be cool, too.

For us temps in the Bahamas were 80-85 to me that's hot! But you can always go check the weather channel website to see what temps will be when you go. FL was in the 90's every time we have gone. We come from 20 degrees to -20 so anything over that is an improvement:rotfl:

The Spring promotion is the reason we are spending two nights at POR before our cruise.

LOL! :goodvibes So it is you that is causing my "not crowded" week to become "crowded". We are at POR too! :cool1:

Yes! No, not really. :rotfl: We are at POR April 26 & 27 and we board the Magic on the 28th. We are causing someone else's "not crowded" week to become "crowded".

First time staying on property and my DSS's first time at WDW so we are very excited. :goodvibes

You will really like POR! IMO it is the best resort they have that is at a resonable price. Your DSS should have a absolute blast! So excited for you!
Have fun! :woohoo:

We have been to WDW the first week of May the last four years. It's not a slow time, but it's not busy either. It's what you would call moderate crowds. It will be a lot slower than summer, but busier than a month like September. Have a good time.
