Bringing my 8 year old to Disney for her first time.....what is the best parks to go to? We are going in October....any suggestions would be wonderful!

The Magic Kingdom.

Number one answer.

OP:

That's a crazy vague question, without something beyond the "8 year old girl" description, it's hard to start suggesting out of the blue.

So my answer is: Magic Kingdom. Two days minimum.

Your timing is good.

As I understand it, the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party JUST opened up its books for October. Call today and book it. You get to sit, almost right in front of the castle, with a wonderful array of desserts. Tinkerbell flies right over your head. And you have an uncrowded SEAT for fireworks.

Tickets are very hard to get-- there's a whole thread here dedicated to it, and people have been stalking Disney waiting for the book to open. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3144695

Call today.

And, while you're calling Disney dining, consider having a meal at Aukerhaus in Norway at Epcot. FIVE princess will come to your table for autographs and pictures.

Beyond that, it's VERY easy to get carried away with things that can add significant money. Remember: you're in Disney World. She's going to have the time of her life regardless of what you do.

All of them!! Seriously, The first time is magical time.

But yes, the Magic Kingdom is a good.first park.

How many days?

Magic Kingdom is the best park for young kids I think but if she likes animals AK would be a good choice. Also bring changes of clothes because at the Magic Kingdom there is a water play area that gets you soaked!

We brought our 8yo DD last October for a week for her first visit & went to all the parks. She was over the moon the entire time we were there. Her favorite parks were probably MK and Epcot (which surprised me). And she still talks about Fantasmic! at least once a week too. You can't go wrong!! :)

Magic Kingdom

Release your enter child and have a lot of fun with your 8 year old DD.................:cool1:

It's fun to be a kid again at Disney.....

Magic Kingdom! Get there early enough for rope drop. You will get to see a welcome song/dance by Mickey and friends just before the rope drops. Make dinner resv at Cinderella's Castle(a must). Get free "1st Disney Trip" pins at Town Hall.

Definitely Magic Kingdom for the first park! Read Theme Parks thread on this board and the Unofficial guide to get an idea of what your child will like to do and where to eat.

If your daughter likes to dress up, I recommend Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. My daughter loved it. She got glammed up and then we had dinner at Akershus with the princesses. Have fun. I am taking my daughter next month for her 13th birthday. Her dress up princess days are over but we will have a blast.
