What is the best room deal you've ever gotten?

I am sitting here drooling over all of your great rates!

Don't forget that most of these great rates were about 5 or so years ago and some tied to AP/FL rates. The buy 4 get 3 free was not from what I recall but in the same year. This fall there are some good rates for AP/FL such as 54/night values, 99/mods and 159/night WL. All are for various dates this fall. I really think the 54/night value is great. With all the onsite benefits you can't beat it. We are paying about that to stay in Florence, SC for an overnight on the way down at a Days Inn!! Florence, although a nice town, doensn't come close to onsite, WDW!!

Between 2001 and 2003, we got the All Stars and Pop Century a couple of times for $49/night with a pin. But we got GF for $199/night in Dec, 2002 (no pin); and in June, 2004, WL for $129/nite (no pin).

I'd love to get those rates again!!!!

Long ago....1980 Contemporary Tower facing Magic Kingdom....$70.00. Those were the days!

2000, magic kingdom club, ASMU $59/night, 15 nights, october (value season) - won't be seeing that again anytime soon....

Nov 2004 ASMu $49 a night

May 2005 CR wing unit $137 a night

Aug 2008 Poly MK view $282 a night

Oct 2008 AKL Concierge $189 a night

Oct 2008 BWI garden view $202 a night

2000, magic kingdom club, ASMU $59/night, 15 nights, october (value season) - won't be seeing that again anytime soon....

We have 54/night at ASMu this fall for 6 nights starting Sept 28 with our AP. If you decide to go twice in one year you could see the rate with an AP just to let you know. The moderates are around 99 as well.

In 2006, our family stayed at the AKL for 5 nights. We had booked a deluxe savannah view room. When checking in, they told us we had two adjoining rooms. I said no that I could never afford that and that we had booked the deluxe. They told me they ran out of those particular rooms so they gave us an adjoining room free. :cool1:

It's almost 6 years to the day, back in 2002. Going the week of Labor Day, I asked what the AP rate was for the garden view concierge level at the Polynesian using the 3-letter code from the Mickey Monitor. I had even spelled out the code using "C as in Charlie..." to the cast member. It sounded cheaper than I expected and asked her, "Are you sure that's the annual passholder rate?" She said it was, so I booked it.

Got the reservation confirmation in the mail with a different (yet similar) 3-letter code on it. Apparently when I called back to find out if there was a mistake, there was. The agent at CRO booked us the Airline Employee Rate, not the Annual Passholder Rate. The middle letter is the only difference in the two codes. Because of that, I would have been charged an additional $500-600 dollars, which my friends and I didn't want to do.

So I asked what the availability was in the Moderates. The cast member said that she wanted me to talk to a supervisor about what happened. As soon as I did, the supervisor said he would approve the rate I was quoted and make a note on my reservation to honor it.

So my friends and I stayed at the Polynesian, Garden View Concierge at $240/night. That was cheaper than if each of us paid for our own rooms at the Value resorts at rack rate. ;)

Keep in mind that i'm not sure if the travel agent messed up or if it was an error on Disney's part, but back in 1999 we got 5 nights in the Ft. Wilderness cabins for at total of $175.:wizard: I kept asking the agent to make sure we weren't pitching a tent and she gauranteed that we were not. Well, when we got to Disney the first thing they asked upon check was did you bring your own tent? This was a Sunday and we were horrified. They gave us a cabin and the next day the travel agent paid the balance of the bill close to $900 dollars she swears Disney made the error as was going fight with them. Have not seen a deal like that again and probably never will.

Back in 2003, I got the Polynesian for 179/night and the Wilderness Lodge for 109/night. In 2004, I scored the Contemporary for 149/night, garden wing. I miss those rates.:guilty:

wow..i didn't really read the other posts that closely, but it looks like you've gotten the best deals!!

Well I went to a Disney TA conference and they gave us MK views in the tower at the Contemporary and the agency I worked for paid the conference fee. Of course Disney also has TA rates which I always took advantage of. Miss those rates, don't miss the job! :rotfl2:

6 years ago this weekend I got an awesome AP rate for a Garden Suite at the Boardwalk made even more special with receiving an engagement ring the first night.

Next was a year later, paid around $175 for a courtyard view at WL and got moved to a lagoon view at the Grand Floridian!

This goes back to 1993. My husband was blessed to get the best CM in the world when he called to price a couple of rooms for ourselves and his BIL and SIL. The rates were fair, but then she asked him if he would consider a special 'manager's special' that had just started. She literally had to talk him into listening to the details and describe it for him before he realized what a deal it was.... Fairway Villa's for $129/night for the time we were there. It was cheaper than the individual rooms we were looking at and if anyone remembers them, they were huge in comparison.

Never had quite as good a deal since, but it was lovely then!

Last week I paid $62 a night at POP thorugh a Disney VISA cardholder promotion. I thought that was pretty good, for a current vacation, no AP or FL resident or anything.

FWIW, I used a 15% discount at Cirque for Disney VISA cardholders, and I paid my hotel bill and 5 TS meals with reward dollars- that VISA really paid off on this trip!!

Best I have gotten is 40% off. We will be staying at POR in October at $99/night. I am happy with that....but I have dreams that when we check in they say ...." I'm sorry but we have overbooked and we will have to move you to the Poly for the same price".:woohoo: Well, a girl can dream can't I??;)

When AKL first opened we got a savanna view with bunk beds for $49 a night.

I think that was the best ever!

My best rates were Oct. 2004 All Star Sports $49+tax; a couple of times I received POFQ for $79+tax, and July 2002 AKL for $124 with upgrade to Savannah View.

Not sure if it counts as a deal since it was an upgrade that I called in and accepted a couple months before going, but I got to stay at OKW 1BR for about $89/night with free dining last year. I looked on it as winning the lottery. :goodvibes Of course, now I'm spoiled, too. As for traditional "deals," I've never gotten a pin.
