What is the best money you have ever spent?

1) The downpayment for our first house.
2) The money we put into 401ks and IRAs.
3) Any money we've spent/invested on having our children... and educating them.

None of this has been a small amount of money, but it has all been well worth every penny. :)

The money we spent homeschooling the kids and the money we didn't make during those years. All three kids have benefitted in different ways--DS19 would never have finished high school otherwise; DD12 learned self-confidence; DD10 learned to sit, walk, and sign. He learned that he was an important part of the family even though he was different :lovestruc What ever we paid for that experience, it was a bargain

the money we paid for our first trip to disney together
taking my neice to see disney on ice every year, with frount row seats
my prescription oakleys cant drive without em

My house!! I love my house and it has gone up in value since we bought it!

Other than the price for getting married and giving birth the best money I ever spent was on a Certified Financial Planner when I was 21. This enabled us to buy a house, pay for college and retire very early. :thumbsup2

Best money I ever spent was about $9000-$10,000 on braces to give me straight teeth. I got absolutely NOWHERE in life with my mess of crooked teeth. Sadly it's amazing how a few teeth that don't look good can affect your whole life. :(

$3000 on a Rainbow Swingset with a steering wheel and telescope. It got the kids to play outdoors and use their imagination. We used it so much.

$30 on a special duffle bag so we could check the carseat when we flew.

$13 for preferred location at Pop Century.

While I consider getting married and having my kids the best choices I have ever made, I guess I don't look at the money spent so much. I would do it no mater how much it cost.

My list is more money well spent. Things I could of went with out so so glad I didn't.
for me it would be

$12,00 for DVC (and dues there after.)
$400 for a good digital camera
$5 for a stuffed Kipper the dog toy my DD takes everywhere.
$200 for a breast pump so I could work and breast feed my baby.
30,000 for a addtion to our house so we didn't have to sell our house and move to a new one for over 100,000 more then the current one. (the year of hell living with the constuction and doing the work is another mater!)
$300 on a good small double stroller that we could take to WDW instead of rent (and use otherwise too.)

Whater ever it was to get my masters degree. It really wasn't that much (DH worked for the school so they paid half. I think it was around 3,000 or something like that.)

1. Marriage License (so long ago I don't remember how much $$)

2. Adoption Fees

$12,500.00 (approx) for a brand new 1989 Mazda 626. Just sold it last year to the lady that runs our paper route for $400.00. 16 years and 240,000 miles later with no major repairs (just routine maintenance costs)

$795.00 for a used Twilight Zone Pinball Machine in great shape that we played the heck out of for 2 years, then sold on Ebay for $2200.00 for a down payment on the camper.

$12,500.00 Jayco Kiwi camper that has been thousands of miles for about 150 camping nights over the past 5 years, and is currently the only 'resort' we'll stay at at Disney (in Fort Wilderness, of course).

Moving Target in NC

OK I'm going to skip all the obvious stuff already said regarding co-pays, adoption fees for my rescue pups & downpayment on house and go with an absolute splurge.

1 - $500 for PERFECT seats at Green Day in Dallas, where Billie Joe was so close DD & I were were sprayed with sweat.

2 - Every other girl's trip taken with DD17 including DCL, Toronto to see Bon Jovi, NYC, Disneyland & L.A. & WDW. And I can add our European girl's trip to this list in July!

Girl's trips are the best! Who needs the guys anyway? ;)

1. $1.25 for a tap beer that I bought my DH the night we met.

2. $.69 for the Reeses that my DD and I bought on Sunday. We shared it and had the BEST talk we have had in two years (she's 15)

3. $5 for the 8X10 picture frame that holds all of my DS's 8X10 pictures since birth. Everytime he gets a new picture, I look at the whole bunch (he's 11 now).

$167 I paid to a landscape crew to rake my leaves. I had a 2 month old and DH traveled like crazy. It was a lot of money to us at the time, but rather than the 80+ bags of leaves I usually ended up with would have done me in that year.

$200 approx that I spent to go visit my mom in Jan. In light of the fact that she died three weeks later and was doing well and we had a great visit, that was a priceless trip.

Probably our Sleep Number bed.

1) The money we spent on our wedding.

2) The money we spent on our home.

3) The money we spent on our DVC.

16 years married, 15 years in our home, 6 years of DVC with hopefully many more years to come!

Any money spent on travel over the years. I love travel and rate it up there as number one as best money spent. Of course, I'm also skipping copays and such things.

the $300 we spent on a carpet shampoo/cleaner. it has saved us from having to replace it. I use it about every 3 months.

Our Sea World Annual Passes (same price as a 1 day admission) :thumbsup2

$18 apiece for Garth Brooks tickets. We didnt realize we had 3rd row center seats until we got to the coliseum! One of the BEST shows I have ever seen (and I have seen quite a few!)

$120 apiece to take my niece to see the Backstreet Boys - 2nd row. Got to see an old friend at the show - one of those priceless unforgettable moments in life. :smooth:

Every dime ever spent on taking my girls to Disney. I want them to have tons of great memories of fun family vacations since those are the happiest memories I have from my childhood. :)

Skipping the obvious things already mentioned...

1. Whatever it cost me to take my DH and two DD's (10 and 13) to see Paul McCartney last fall - DH is a big fan and I promised him years ago I'd take him someday to see Paul - and it was our DD's first real concert. We all loved it - something they will always remember, I hope.

2. Our house - which has appreciated dramatically in 12 years, but also which is in a great neighborhood with good friends nearby and a terrific community.

3. My piano - bought it used for $1100 about 20 years ago - still use it all the time, and now my daughter does too.

1. $30,000 to adopt DD from Russia. This one is self-explanatory. :cloud9:

2. $300 to pay for fertility treatments that allowed me to get pg with my twins...again, self-explanatory. :cloud9:
