I love to travel and love when we find a great hotel. What is your best?

Some of my favorites:
Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego
Great beach hotel located on the Pacific Ocean

#2 Disney's Port Orleans Riverside in Walt Disney World
Love the ambience and feel of the resort

Curious to hear what others have enjoyed!

The Vendue Inn in Charleston, SC - loved it. So elegant and beautiful, full of Southern charm and right in the middle of historic Charleston.

The Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN - the indoor atrium is so beautiful, walking through the little pathways was like a walk in the park. Having a room with a balcony overlooking it all was so peaceful and relaxing.

Of course, the Polynesian and Grand Floridian at Disney - more because of the atmosphere and location - no other hotels give me the same feeling as those two do when I check-in.

Since I usually stay at a chain hotel they are all basically the same. My top two are in Disney.
1. The Grand Floridian - because it is the most amazing hotel I have ever stayed in and it cost me almost nothing. I was the 3rd person in the room so I paid $25 a night and that included my tickets.

2. The Caribbean Beach Resort - It is absolutely beautiful there and I loved exploring little things every morning as I wandered around Caribbean Cay

Hands down, our best resort ever was our honeymoon at the Cancun Omni International. It was so luxurious! The floors and walls were marble. We had a huge bed with sliding glass doors that opened to a large balcony overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The balcony was draped in flowers and had two benches built into its walls.

The bath tub was huge too; you could almost swim in it. They filled it with water and flowers as a welcoming gesture for honeymooners. Instead of towel animals, the housekeepers left elaborately folded gifts made from bathroom tissue. We got swans, fans, seashells--every day was something else.

The resort is located on the beach and was all-inclusive. Every night, the main restaurant had a different theme, including a barbecue on the beach. It was awesome in every way. :sunny:

We stayed at the Wynn in Las Vegas. Very nice, not showy/theme-y like other Las Vegas Hotels. The Ritz Carlton at Amelia Island, Florida - beautiful hotel, but the staff made it even better! NYC - Westin, Times Square - very modern, in the middle of everything, but an escape from the bustle of the city, all at once!

I loved the Del Coronado too.

My other favourites are the Bellagio in Las Vegas with a lake view of the dancing fountains. Fabulous location on the strip, wonderful restaurants and the dancing fountains are so relaxing to watch.

Or the Venetian hotel in Las Vegas. When we stayed there we were upgraded to one of the 2 bedroomed high roller suites (we are so not high rollers!!), the suite was amazing, it even had our own steam room and sauna!

For Disney, I love the Disneyland hotel at Disneyland Paris. It is located over the entrance to the Disneyland park and breakfast is included in your room rate. So you start each day having breakfast in a restaurant looking straight down Main Street at the castle.

Von Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, VT-it was so cozy, beautiful, secluded, I loved the history, & just relaxing and wonderful :cloud9::

The AKL is up there on my list as well!!!

Bellagio in Las Vegas, The Grand Wailea or the Hilton Waikaloa, both in Hawaii have been my favorites.

This thread makes me want to travel in the worst way, therefore my favorite so far has been the Old Faithful Club at Wilderness Lodge. I loved the setting, the convenience, the food, the staff...it was heaven.

agnes!

Bellagio in Las Vegas, The Grand Wailea or the Hilton Waikaloa, both in Hawaii have been my favorites.

I loved the Grand Wailea. I was there before a conference (on Oahu) and it was low season. I did a SCUBA dive, where I was the only guest (and had two dive instructors with me).

I didn't love Hilton Waikaloa quite as much (a little too big). And the Hilton Hawaiin Village (Honolulu) was also not as good (though my room had an amazing oceanview and it was still a very good hotel).

I also enjoyed the Hyatt on the Big Island.

Hayman Island on the Great Barrier Reef was amazing (yet again, a dive where I was the only guest - appears to be a theme).

Arowhon Pines which is in Algonquin Park (a Provincial Park in Ontario).

Ngorongoro Crater Lodge - on the edge of the Ngorogro Crater in Tanzania. Really cold though. I have a picture and I'm wearing pretty much everything that I had brought to Africa (meanwhile, the day had been spent in shorts/t-shirt).

Much as I love WDW, none of the hotels (in and of themselves) would rank on my favourite list.

I like staying at nice hotels

Disneyland Hotel at Disneyland Paris
Grand Floridian at WDW
Grand Wailea in Maui, Hawaii
Ritz Carlton, Kapalua in Maui, Hawaii
Venetian in Las Vegas, Nevada
Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittorino in Sorrento, Italy
Hotel Gritti Palace in Venice, Italy
Renaissance Chancery Court in London, England

next up with be the Four Seasons in Cairo, Egypt

What a fun thread! Those photos are sooo pretty! :worship:

We don't really stay anywhere amazing but we sure enjoyed the pool at the Iberostar Paraiso del Mar south of Cancun...

My favorite so far is the Four Seasons in Washington DC. Gorgeous room, great location! Loved the twice a day housekeeping as well.

I was at a conference at the Four Seasons in Boston this week but didn't spend the night. The hotel was lovely and those who did stay over said the rooms and staff were great.

I would love to be able to afford to stay at that type hotel all the time!

I'm loving the pictures on this thread. :worship:

They sure beat photos of puppies! :)

I'll add one of what the view from our private balcony looked like:

If you are ever in Southern California, consider staying at La Quinta Resort and Golf Club in Palm Desert. It is a Waldorf Astoria Resort. DH and I rented a hideaway casita for a weekend. It was fantastic! Instead of a traditional hotel, the casitas are like little houses, complete with a fireplace, private yards surrounded by 6ft walls and your own outdoor hot tub. It was the best weekend ever! http://www.laquintaresort.com/accommodations/casitas.cfm

The resort is located on a golf course and tennis club, and also has a spa.

This is a picture of the front of the resort. Check out the website for even better pictures. This one isn't the greatest.

Some of my favorite hotels/resorts I have stayed in are:

Grand Floridian- comfort and location, beautiful resort

Polynesian- while I wouldn't call the resort rooms/ammenities luxurious, they are wonderfully themed, beautiful grounds and my favorite WDW energy

Royal Pacific Hotel, Orlando- We had complaints about our room (run down, not clean to my standards) but we loved the resort, the location, the ammenities and the FOTL access at Universal and Islands of Adventure

The Grand Californian, Disneyland CA- awesome resort! Very beautiful, well maintained and clean. The location amazing!

Camelback Inn, Scottsdale, AZ.- beautiful! Amazing spa, classy and luxurious.

Marriott's Surfwatch, Hilton Head Island, SC- beautiful villas, great location, everything you could need for a relaxing week on the beach

Greenbrier Resort, White Sulphur Springs, WV- amazing resort filled with history, beauty and world class of a bygone era. Amazing spa and resort ammenties, great for the whole family. Amazing food.

The Williard Intercontinental, Washington DC- awesome history, beauty and very comfortable rooms and a wonderful bathroom hard to find in city hotels.
AWESOME location!

I've stayed at many, many beautiful hotels around the world (business travel), but some really stand out. Here's my list.

Any Ritz Carlton
Grand Californian (was disappointed in WL after GC)
Regency Hotels in Australia
But my all time favorite is the Windsor Court in New Orleans.

One of our favorites was the Atlantis Resort...
