I want one that can take excellent pictures of fireworks and like SpectroMagic parade.
Before I've used a kodak and a canon powershot A680.
Both of the cameras produced not so great pictures.
my friend suggested the Olympus Stylus 720SW because it is also waterproof.
But, i'd just like to ask what you think and what kind of camera you use to get good shots of night parades and fireworks shows.

Assuming you only include decent, adequate cameras, there's no such thing as one camera that will take better fireworks photos (or most other types of photos) than another. The difference between decent pics and not-so-decent pics is usually the photographer, not the equipment.

I'll bet that your current camera is quite capable of taking decent fireworks pictures, it's just a matter of employing the proper techniques. Without those proper techniques, there's not a camera you can buy that will produce great fireworks shots for you. It should be pretty easy to learn.

Years ago, a friend and I on vacation took pics at the same time from exactly the same vantage points as each other, me with my expensive 35 mm SLR and him with disposable cameras from the nearest Sunoco mini mart. Except for pics where I used zoom or adjusted depth-of-field, our photos were IDENTICAL.
