What is the best and fastest way to leave Epcot after illuminations?

If you are not staying at a Boardwalk area resort, you will have to go out the front exit by Space Ship Earth. Just take it slow and let everyone else run out. The only other exit is at the International Gateway, but that leads to YC/BC, BWI and Swan/Dolphin.

So, unless you are the running kind, there is no fast way out of EPCOT. If you have to be somewhere, then watch the show from the area between Future World and the World Showcase, then walk quickly to the front exit.

Well......you can either "run with the herd" for the gate..

OR.....

ENJOY the "Magic", listen to the wonderful music, relax, take in the moment.....in 15 min. you can leisurely stroll out of the park un-nerved and with the memories of enjoying "All Things Disney"!!!

BTW.....If you do this after the MK fireworks..the music is soothing..get an ice cream.. hang out...and you won't miss the "Castle Kiss Goodnight" !!!

You could go out the international gateway and walk to the Beach Club, then catch a cab from there (assuming you bussed in). But all resort buses and parking is by the front entrance. For quick exit, watch from Mexico or Canada - but there will be the running kind getting to the buses/parking lots before you unless you are a runner.

Epcot isn't really all that hard to leave. Unless you're getting on the monorail where you have to wait, you just shuffle out with everyone else, hop on a tram (they run constantly - hardly a wait), get in your car, and go.

Or you can wait 20-30 minutes and walk on out.

It is the Magic Kingdom that is the pain in the patootie. Everyone is crowded down the same street, waits for the monorail (or waits FOREVER for the boat) and rides the crowded thing to the trams, and from there it is pretty quick.

We have a hopper pass and we are going to MK for the spectromagic parade and fireworks then hurry to Epcot for the candlelight processional and illuminations. Does the monorail go to the beach club or Dolphin? I would appreciate any suggestions on tranportation.

Is the spectromagic parade the pretty one that is lighted?

Kitty 34 - You don't have to be a guest to go out the International Gateway- but, what will you do once you get there? You are not allowed to park there unless you are a guest.

I hate to throw water on your plans, but I don't see how they're possible. The earliest time I see for MK fireworks in December is 8pm. The latest Candlelight is 8:15pm, Illuminations is 9:30pm. Seeing the fireworks, fighting your way out of MK, getting to Epcot and getting back to World Showcase is going to take an hour--at the very least! Candlelight is impossible, Illuminations is possible, but not even a guarantee.

Can you split your days up so that you spend one evening at MK enjoying the parade and fireworks and then one evening at Epcot for Candlelight and Illuminations? I really think that would work better--more enjoyable and less stressful.

The monorail only stops at Contemporary, TTC (where you could get the Epcot monorail), Poly and Grand Floridian. The Epcot monorail only goes to TTC and Epcot. Yes, Spectromagic is the lighted parade.

I think the OP could park at the Dolphin--anybody know? Of course, they charge for parking.

I agree with another poster who said there is no quick way out of Epcot after Illuminations. Even if you can park at the Dolphin, it wouldn't be a fast way out (still have to walk there).

Last year we did the parade, mk fireworks,we missed the processional part of clp but were there for the reading and choir, then watched illuminations. We did a lot of running . I am going to check my trip diary to see if the times were different last year. Thanks for all the info.
