What is that "red" icon at the bottom...

Ok, everyone...help! Every time I read posts, I see everyone has a red icon at the bottom of where there name, etc. is. I seem to be the only one who doesn't have one. Can someone tell me what it means? I know, it is probably something stupid...but just made me curious. Thanks.

If you're talking about the red dot (???) that means the user is invisible on line? Green dot means they are online and the gray dot means they are offline. Does that help? Or, if you speak of the red triangle with an exclamation point in it, that's to report a bad post. You won't have one in your box because you can't report yourself. If you run your mouse over the icons at the bottom they will tell you what it is.

Thank you so much for clearing that up. I did mean the triangle and did scan over it with my mouse but have never reported any bad posts so I didn't realize what it was. Now I feel so darn silly. Thanks again. I can't remember how long it has been but I remember your code name and you have helped me in the past.

So does that mean you click on the red triangle if you think the post is bad and then the "higher ups" will decide?

When you read a post that you feel is against DIS guidelines then you would use that icon to report the post. You are asked to give a reason. Your reporting and reason are then sent to each moderator for that particular board. At that time we review the posts to see if it is in fact outside the guidelines for posting on this board and handle it as appropriate.
