What is pool hopping?

We are new to DVC and were never told about this feature by our sales person. Is it open to all resort pools or only vaction club resorts? What are the blackout periods??

hi and welcome. as a dvc member staying on points, you may have the privilege of "pool hopping" to other pools at any of the disney hotels. what you will need to do is have the front desk of your hotel or guest services call over to the desk of whatever hotel pool you would like to visit to make sure there is available room. stormalong bay at the yacht and beach club is a very popular pool; they generally restrict dvc access to this pool during busy/peak times such as this april 1-15 and sometimes during the christmas season. also, the pool at the new akl is off limits to anyone not staying at that hotel at this time. whether or not they will ease this restriction remains to be seen. remember this is a privilege,not a guaranteed right.

When things get slow on this board, someone yells "POOL HOPPING" and soon posts are flying everywhere, people get a little nasty, moderators step in to calm things down...and then someone yells "RENTING POINTS" and soon...........
