My local Michael's (a fairly big store) has had the same selection of sizzix's since well before Christmas. They have not restocked at all. I asked again tonight what the deal was and know ones knows. One guy thought it must be the company can't keep up with the demand but AC Moore has all the new ones. The shelf is so bare and obvious now they can't even spread them out enough. But they have plenty of the umbrella, plane and car die cuts left.

I wonder if something is up and they aren't going to carry them anymore or is Michael's having trouble??

I was at my local Michael's today and could not believe my eyes!:) They have re-done the scrapping section and it is wonderful. They have added Making Memories, Jolees and more (I was in a hurry). Maybe they are all re-doing to keep up with the competition.

I have noticed that different Michael's seem to have different standards on keeping the scrapbook section fresh. The one that is a mile or so from my house is really crummy....rarely can I find what I am looking for...the Michael's that is 6-7 miles up the freeway by the mall rocks! They *always* have lots of Sizzix, often have the new ones, and their scrapbook section is neat and organized. Although I haven't been to Michael's in awhile, I would definitely go the extra few miles to the "good" Michael's.

My Michaels isn't very great either. I have been going by my local store at least twice a week for the last two months looking for the Sizzix converter. I got the Sizzix die cut machine and the Sizzlits letters for my birthday at the end of January but need the converter. I think I'm going to end up ordering the converter online somewhere because my Michael's store never seems to get any in stock.

Yes, I've been looking for the converter too and have yet to see one. I just keep fingering the sizzlets when I go into the store, but haven't purchased yet. Hoping to get the converter first.

My sister gave me a $25 gift card for my birthday last week. On Sunday I saw there was a coupon, so I decided to head to Michaels. I usually go to AC Moore.

Anyway, I used my 40% off coupon to get a package of 25 12x12 page protectors. I saw they had some Making Memories 6x6 page protectors on clearance, so I bought those (I'm expecting my QVC 6x6 scrapbook kit any day now). I got 2 Mickey punches which were on sale, plus I got a few Disney stickers that were on sale.

Our Michaels didn't really have anything new. I haven't been there for months. The only new stuff I saw was a little display of some new K & Co. paper. It looked like travel paper. That's it.

I was happy with my purchases because I got to use my giftcard, but I'd still rather go to AC Moore.

We just got a Michael's about 10 minutes away. I was there yesterday and they had the same dies that the Michael's 30 minutes has. I have not seen anything new there in a long time.

Thinking about getting the sizzlets this weekend. Because of the Grand opening here, there was a 50% coupon in last Sinday's paper for this coming Sunday. I'll need the converter, but not sure if they carry it or not.

Will you email me when you get a chance please? Want to touch base on the 26th but my computer was hacked and they had to reset a bunch of stuff. And a LOT of my contacts, etc. were lost.

Unfortunately in any chain there are vast differences between stores. The stores are also very different in size, so some stores do carry more items than smaller ones. Our store is very well stocked with Sizzix dies. The converters have been an issue. The vendor doesn't even have them in stock on their website. You can stack 2 white cutting blocks together and put them over your paper and the sizzlit. The converter is magnetic, so it is easier to use. A large chain can't change their selection as fast as a local store can. That's why there will always be a need for local stores. I have never been to an AC Moore. They aren't in our market.
During the next few weeks there will be new merchandise in the scrapbook area of Michaels. New Disney stickers and Disney Jolee's included. The store I work at is large and has expanded
areas in scrapbooking. Not all stores may be getting all the new merchandise. If you are unhappy with your store, talk to the store manager and let them know why you are unhappy or look for another Michael's in your area or shop elsewhere.
