What is lego land like? Worth a visit?

we have one nearby (Yonkers, ny) but it's just like a very small activity center. The one in Florida- is it big? Worth the pricey ticket? What would you compare it to? Amusement park? Activity center? Shows? The website isn't that explanatory so I would love to hear about it for someone who has been there. Our kids are 8, 6&6, the twins have autism (in case anyone has special needs info) and they all loves Legos.

Thanks!

It is an amusement park geared best towards the 4-10 yr old crowd in my opinion. Lots of kid friendly rides, shows and hands on activities that even we as parents enjoyed. We just visited with our kids ages 9 & 7 and had a fun day. I just bumped the link for the $35 ticket price, definitely a good deal! It is about a 45 minute drive from Disney.

If your kids love legos then yes it's worth a trip. My 5 year old thinks it is the most wonderful place ever created. It's a theme park, mostly all the rids are geared toward kids under 12 so perfect for your ages - from a few roller coaster, to more mild rides, they have things that cater to different tastes of kids. My 5 and almost 4 year old love it. There is a great mix of rides and activities. There is an area where they can design and build their own hero factory creation, they can also build their own car and race it on various tracks. Each themed section has a play area so if a kid doesn't want to do a particular ride, there is an area to keep them amused while you wait for the others to get off rides (some areas are for younger kids, but there are 2 playground climbing areas that would be good for your aged children). There is a show, though we have not seen it. Also depending on the time Of year you go they do have some Special activities around the holidays. It has not been very crowded when we have gone (which is a nice break from Disney). You could spend the whole day there, but also get a good experience going for 4 or 5 hours.

Hope this helps.

The old Cypress Gardens is still there and well maintained. We're going there this weekend just for that. I haven't been since 2007.

We LOVE Legoland. It is nothing like those small discovery areas around the country. It's a true theme park geared for younger kids. It is 45 minutes from Orlando which can surprise some folks.

We loved it so much we're actually going back in November before our son ages out (he's 10). You can see almost all of it in one day, especially if you don't do the water park, and there are no lines compared to Disney.

My oldest is on the spectrum also. He loves Legoland as does my youngest. They have a pass for special needs similar to the DAS at Disney. We got it this summer, and it was easy to get and easy to use. It basically lets you go get a time to ride or lets you load up immediately depending on the length of wait time. The Legoland employees were super nice to my boys and treated them nicely when we used the pass. If your kids like Legos, I say go for it. You can even catch the Legoland bus at the Orlando Eye and ride a charter bus to and from Legoland for $5 per person round trip. I took the boys without the hubs this summer so it was worth it to me to ride the bus and not have to fight traffic and navigate back to our condo.

We loved it! We went two years ago, and at the time my sons were into Legos and were in heaven there! I also really liked that the park was geared specifically to their age group (at that time 9 and 7), so they were able to ride everything with no restrictions or fears. I remember the grounds of the park being gorgeous and clean. And if you can get your hands on a copy of Lego magazine, there is usually a coupon in the back that allows one free child per free paying adult. So it was really a great deal!!

We loved it too - all of us. The Cypress Gardens part of things is neat with the character water skiing show. My kids are now 12 and 15, so getting a bit old for it. However, I really enjoyed the day myself.

We went last spring with 2 eight year olds- A very excited Lego loving boy & a very reluctant Disney loving girl. They both absolutely loved it & , much to my dismay, actually preferred it over DW! There were no lines & it was very relaxing. The boy did the master class & would have done it over & over if time allowed.
We spent one night in the hotel & we all had so much fun! There were constant activities in the lobby, characters roaming everywhere, & pretty much perfect! It was definitely worth it to us, especially staying in the hotel. So many awesome memories. Keep looking for ticket discounts as I know they're out there. It's an experience your family won't regret!
