What is it like right now at the Polynesian (re. construction)? Thinking to stay 1 night at the end of January

Arriving around 3pm and leaving by 2 pm next day (end of a longer trip). Not planning to go to parks. Have been so indecisive on what to do and where to stay. Finally started settling on Polynesian (for that Hawaiian feel), but now I see that they warn of construction. How is it really?

Right at this moment there’s not much around - some continuing work on repaving pathways around the resort and roof work occurring on a few longhouses (which is largely not visible/not noticeable, although I’m not sure if there are noise concerns for third floor rooms, haven’t seen any reports of such).

The big pending project is the front entrance reconfiguration and bus stop expansion which will likely be an annoying and unsightly eye sore, but being at the “front” of the resort is not necessarily the end of the world from the majority of rooms. Disney has not announced dates but presumably it will start sometime soon.

You never know when they have other unannounced things, but for the moment I’m personally not ‘too’ concerned with booking a Poly stay (unless you’re the kind of person that wants to see Poly perfect in every way and no tolerance for any construction, which some people are).

Thanks for that quick reply. Not looking for perfection but definitely don't want construction noise harshing the mellow that I would be seeking.

Has anyone stayed at the Polynesian lately? A co-worker stayed there in December and said the traffic on the buses to theme parks was terribly delayed due to road construction between the Poly and the Grand Floridan. Can anyone give me an update?

Didn’t use the buses but the road construction is still pretty nuts out front as of this past weekend.

I could definitely see if being a little backed up because of the construction. We didn’t use the buses but did encounter some traffic when we drove. Nothing terrible though but we didn’t try to make it for park opening when we went to animal kingdom. Came back around 7 and didn’t have a huge amount of back up but there was some
