For all of you that play Vmk, you know you're addicted, don't denine it. I am, and I tell you, what gets me is the fact that you're in a virtual replica of DisneyLand. I love the fact that you can go to one of the magical disney edans in your own home (and that when you trade for really rare stuff, you just really want to see what you can get for it). :)

Now, I want to know what you think gets you addicted to Vmk. Please post, for I am very curious! lol

I have long maintained that there is something subliminal in the screen images compelling us to stay... stay and play..... the house will clean itself..... children can live quite a long time without food.....

And you can't prove me wrong! You and your... your... science!

Ricks (who is thankful for his tinfoil hat)

The friends.
No doubt about it, for me anyways.

LOL I was about to say Disney was sending us subliminal messages :rotfl: With the addition of "go to a disney park... so you can get more stuff to play with..."

It's the fact that when I am in VMK, I can be pretty and I can have friends. I can make deals and feel good about a nicely executed trade that gets me things that I like, then trade them off for other things. If I run out of 'money', I can play games to get it back. I can dance in the middle of the street, and nobody will look at me funny. I can say something, and people will notice me. I can help somebody, and they will thank me. VMK is all about "I can..."

Ahem...

*National Anthem begins to play in the background*

Why? Because it's Disney!

-mumbles- And because of all that other stuff I think people have mentioned...I think something about...friends..? Maybe I heard fun, also? Something like that...

*Music slowly dies out*

You took the words out oh my mouth :rolleyes2

I have to agree with all of the above :)

but also im addicted (yes I admit it!) for the fact i love dressing up, still today in real life i buy costumes and make my own. I love it for I can dress as something in the game and the decorating my rooms. I love making themes in my rooms (I have about 20 or more rooms) hehe but really because its disney!

LOL! Interesting question as I've been trying to figure out why I am so addicted to this online game! I've finally come to the conclusion that it's the same reason why I enjoy going to WDW over and over again - I get to be a kid again! You enter those gates of the MK or you log into VMK and suddenly all your problems & hang-ups & worries are put on the back burner for now. You are free to be a child again, with nothing better to do than hang out with friends :teeth: , build relationships , be ever so silly :rotfl2: , dance on the tables, on the crates, in the streets  ... And virtual shopping is the BEST!!! :yay:

Disney has a way of being all things to all people. Im sure there are sad stories behind some of the faces that are our friends. Thats why it is so important to be nice to people. Vmk could be their only escape from a not so kind world. My brother would say it is the games. Me, I hang with friends and build rooms for them to hang in. So its just like real life in a way. When you say ' yo wut up' to someone. Stop and listen for their response.
Wish List:
White Snowman
Teleportation

See you on vmk

Very well said... although I think Ricks may have a point too- maybe we should see if vmk will sell little tinfoil hats... wait that would defeat the purpose wouldn't it lol

VMK trained me to have a Pavlovian response when Fridays roll around.
When we had one Friday without anything new coming out (sometime within
the last few months), lots of people were freaking out.

We're conditioned to the "eye candy" aspect of the game. When the
seagull hats first came out, everyone wanted it. Today, it's more common
to see those, and the "new" thing is the Stitch hat. (Insert visual of
Pavlovian response here.)

Besides the virtual "eye candy" of exploring the details of the game's public
rooms, it's also about the friends you make and the escape from the mundane
"real world".

I started dancing at closing back in beta, when a few people I knew started
the Castle Forecourt "Mickey Dancers". Now you'll see most instances of
that room filled with those dancers, and now other public rooms see that
type of closing. I have a few "sets" of friends I love to close with. I find
myself alternating on different nights so I get a chance to close with
all the usual suspects. :)

Yes, I'm addicted. :)

I love to shop so vmk had me hooked the first time I started trading :) Trading rare def makes vmk addicting :woohoo:

ok so maybe i am a little addicted..i am not atticted to the sight really i think its kinda pointless (dont yell at me) except for having ur own stuff and rooms. I play vmk mainly to see some friends i have met there and we all have fun together. If anyone i know, knew i played vmk i would be the laughing stock of my school lol. :rolleyes1

It's the same as how affulent people might play with investments and shares, except if suddenly inferno sells in the Emporium for 50 credits we don't have the same problem as something that has an actual value attached to it.
You can live in a shack and be the 'richest' person on VMK as long as it has an internet connection, which is what makes it appeal to such a huge amount of people.
Not to mention it is visually interesting and fun to play the games, and is a great cure for PDD.
