Hi.
We live near Hershey PA. Can fly from any of the neighboring cities as well (Philly, Washington, Baltimore). I have not flown in years. What would a good rate from one of those airports to LAX or San Diego be?

We will be traveling November 2007. When should I book?
2 adults and 1 child.

We will be going to San Diego area for 3 nights (zoo and legoland) and then Disneyland for 5 nights.

thanks!!!

There are usually good rates through Southwest.com. We have flown Ca. to Florida last June for $129 each way. If that helps.

we just came back. traveled on NW from Baltimore. $330. per ticket. booked 7 months ahead. Be forewarned that you will most likely have to switch planes in the midwest somewhere. Going we stopped in St. Paul, Minn, coming back,
Detroit. Try to avoid the Rockies (colorado area) there may be turbulance. It makes for a slightly longer day, but unless you have gobs of $, there's no choice. Shop around, you may do better.

I fly my family out once a year in the Summer and go back to the East Coast from CA once a year as well. We almost always pay under $300 for airfare and usually pay around $250 to $275. I look for airfare once a day once I know the dates (usually very far in advance) and then book as soon as they go down.

We usually fly USairways or United and on Usairways, we can fly into Philli or Pitsburg for our layovers...So, that company might be your best bet.

If you book Southwest early, you may be able to get $109 each way out of Philly. Sign up for Ding. Last year, we got $49 airfare from Philly to Orlando on a Ding sale.

You may have to dig around a bit, but I think you will be able to find a fare from about $200-$250 rt at that time of year.

we just booked for April $250 r/t no stops from FLL (Ft. Lauderdale) to LAX straight through Delta

IF you can make it as far as JFK, may I suggest giving Jet Blue some consideration? Lots of non stops to SoCal, especially Long Beach. :thumbsup2

I think that Hershey is a bit of a ways from JFK. However, I too love JetBlue and I think they fly out of Washington DC, too.:cool1:

I keep hearing rumors of increased air fares. Who knows if it is true! I'd buy if you can get under $300. My DS lives up in Maine, and we rarely get under $300 for that area. It depends on which airport you use and which airline!

Good luck!

We got a great deal through Delta. We live near Buffalo, NY and booked a flight to Vegas round trip it only cost us 156.00. We then are planning to drive to Disneyland from vegas. So if you cant get a reasonable cost to LAX try other airports also.

Yep, JetBlue flies from Dulles to Long Beach.

Well, we are flying in April from Philadelphia on Southwest. What's nice about them is you can book one way flights. So we are flying from PHL to San Diego and then home LAX to PHL. Flights are less then $200 each.

I'm flying to LAX from Manchester, NH in March. Got an awesome deal thru Southwest $219 roundtrip. To get this, I had to wait and watch Southwest's schedule. As soon as it opened for month of March, I jumped on the internet fare, which was around $92- or $97 each way. These fares don't last long--but I'm glad I snagged them.

Thank you all!
I've signed up for Ding. I will be watching Jet Blue, Southwest, etc.

I truly appreciate all the input. It has helped immensely!
