What is going on the week of Jan 2-9th... other than the marathon on the 9th...

I have our trip planned, and BIL has his trip planned (10 of us). MIL and FIL want to go too last minute. I called today to try to get them a room at Pop and there were NONE to be had. The CM said the ONLY accommodations for them would be at Saratoga Springs. We kinda wanted to be in the same resort with them. I know it is last minute but I thought this is typically not a very busy week. Anyone have any ideas> Thanks, CindyML

Alot of people have posted that some school districts do not report back to school until January 9. So you can expect that some of those people will be heading down after New Years to enjoy the holiday festivities prior to going back to school. We are heading down on the 5th and are expecting some crowds until after the weekend. Hopefully the week of January 9 will be slower.

We were there last year the first week of January and it was pretty crowded. I think that because the New Year's holiday was on the weekend some people got Monday off a well. It was pretty busy right through Tuesday, but then it got a little better.

Expedia shows availabilty for all but Friday & Saturday (marathon weekend). Have you thought about spliting your stay?
