What is going on in early December 2024? All DVC rooms appear to be full

We are going December 5th thru 13th. Staying in a 1 Bedroom at the Boardwalk. We booked it many months ago.

We now have other family members that want to join in for the first half of our trip and there is nothing available DVC-wise. I thought we would have lower crowds. This doesn't seem to be the case. But every DVC unavailable

Anyone know what is going on?

First 2 weeks of December has been the busiest DVC booking times for a long long time…it started with the old points charts having Dec 1-15 as the cheapest points of the year and has continued thru current years even though the points required have risen.

Yes! We love it at this time. But we have never seen it sold out before. Crazy. But we are still excited!

First two weeks in December and the first week of May typically book up completely 4-5 months before.

Also, there are Orlando Informer meetups Dec 6+7 and 13+14. So folks who take on a few Universal days may be gobbling up those bookings too!

FWIW you will probably still have relatively low crowds.

DVC demand patterns have become pretty disconnected from park demand patterns.

I’ve been a BWV member since 1999, the beginning of December has always booked up quick. I have December 3 to 9, I’ll admit I walked my boardwalk view. Only way to get it these days.

I've been going since 1997 every 1st week in December, its been steadily increasing in crowd levels, When I started renting DVC in 2007 it seemed to be the hardest time to get in. Disney has done a tremendous job of making it a very appealing time of year for groups of all kinds. Pee-wee football champions, cheer competitions, etc.

We have a BRV holiday tradition trip the first week of December every year, and I always jump on the website the first week of January to get our room booked (2BR dedicated). Yes, the resort doesn't typically "sell out" until April or May, with a few rooms possibly remaining in June, but inventory does start to get thin.

We go then too! And adding on a Merrytime cruise on DCL! It’s a great time to go. We also book 11 months out!

I think in general DVC will be mostly booked if you are only a few months out from your dates.
